NEW YORK: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar called on Afghan interim officials on Wednesday to eliminate terrorist networks, and warn them that they posed a serious threat to regional peace and security.
Addressing the inaugural session of the OIC Coordination Group in Afghanistan, the Deputy Prime Minister expressed serious concerns over the presence of more than two dozen terrorist groups working inside Afghanistan.
He nominated groups, including Tahrik Talban Pakistan (TTP), Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), Majid Brigade, and East Turkistan Islamic Movement (ETIM), highlighting their active cooperation with al -Qaeda and a serious threat to regional and international peace and security.
In 2021, especially in the provinces of KP and Balochistan, the country has witnessed the increase in cross -border terrorist incidents since the Taliban’s rulers returned to Afghanistan.
The two countries have shared an unsafe border that extends about 2,500 km with several crossing points, which is important as an important element of regional trade and an important factor of relations between the people on both sides of the fence.
However, the issue of terrorism has become an important issue for Pakistan, which has called on Afghanistan to prevent its territory from attacking groups like TTP inside the previous area.
Islamabad’s reservations have also been confirmed by a report submitted by the UN Security Council (UNSC) by an analytical cooperation and sanctions monitoring team, which has revealed a nexus between Kabul and the TTP, which has previously provided logistics, operational, and later.
Addressing the OIC Coordination Group today, DPM Dar said, “Due to terrorism from Afghanistan, our law enforcement personnel and civilians make many sacrifices. Earlier this month, 12 Pakistani soldiers were martyred while fighting the TTP’s infiltration along our border,” DPM Dar said.
He further warned that terrorist organizations are rapidly exploiting digital platforms and social media to incite propaganda and violence. He emphasized, “In any case it cannot be tolerated.
The DAR proposed the establishment of a working group consisting of experts from OIC Member States to develop a practical roadmap with mutual measures to tackle Afghanistan’s pressure challenges.
He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to support all efforts to achieve a peaceful and prosperous Afghanistan, but emphasized that “mutual respect, sincerity, and Taliban officials need to help help themselves.”
He pointed out that no country has sought more stability and stability in Afghanistan than Pakistan, noting that the destiny of the two countries is closely connected.
It is a warning that changing global priorities poses a threat to Afghanistan, Dar called on the OIC to focus on several crises in the country, including sanctions, terrorism, drugs, a passive banking system, unemployment, poverty, human rights and human rights.
The Deputy Prime Minister identified a six -point approach to the OIC to support Afghanistan: Proper human sympathy by international donors without political prejudice is protected. Help the Afghan economy and the banking sector to promote trade and communication projects. Encourage talks with the Taliban to ensure compliance with international responsibilities. Support UN -administered measures to provide alternative livelihoods for former popp farmers. Ask the Taliban to lose sanctions on women and girls, which are in violation of Islamic principles. And create conditions for the safe return of Afghan refugees and re -unity.
“As fellow OIC members, regional partners and neighbors, we should use this platform to help Afghanistan out of our isolation,” Dar emphasized that peace, stability and prosperity in Afghanistan is essential to the region and the wider Muslim world.
