NEW YORK: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Tuesday attended the inauguration of the 80th UN General Assembly session with world leaders in New York.
The Prime Minister was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dara, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, Information Minister and Broadcasting Atla Tarar, and Assistant Special Assistant to Prime Minister Tariq Fatimi.
Prime Minister Shahbaz, who arrived in New York on Monday night to attend the UNGA session, will also attend the special summit of Arab and Islamic countries, hosted by the United States and Qatar.
The Prime Minister has been invited to participate in the summit, in which US President Donald Trump will also attend.
In the United Nations, the Prime Minister, speaking to reporters, praised the US President and his team for their role in the ceasefire between Pakistan and India.
The Prime Minister called President Trump a strong lawyer for peace and stability all over the world.
The Prime Minister said, “President Donald Trump is a man of peace. He played a key role in bringing a ceasefire between Pakistan and India with his team.”
During the day, Premier met with Austrian Chancellor Christian Sticker, Kuwait’s Prince Prince and Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah al -Khalid and other world leaders on the occasion of the UNGA session.
Prime Minister Shahbaz and the Austrian Chancellor expressed their desire to further enhance bilateral cooperation in diverse sectors.
The premiere highlighted the possible ways of trade, tourism, climate change and education, and emphasized the need to enhance bilateral trade relations.
The Austrian Chancellor thanked the Prime Minister for the meeting and also brought the desire to work together to create new avenues for cooperation between the two countries.
The two sides agreed to exchange delegation to enhance cooperation between the two countries in the field of tourism.
In his meeting with the Prince of Kuwait, the Prime Minister remembered the long -standing, historic brotherly relations between Pakistan and Kuwait.
He expressed his respect and best wishes for Kuwait’s Umair, Sheikh Mashal al -Hamad al -Jabbar al -Sabah.
Recalling that the two countries are always standing together through thick and thin, Prime Minister Shahbaz thanked the Prime Minister for his solidarity after the recent flood in Pakistan.
Expressing satisfaction over the positive pace of bilateral cooperation between the two countries, the Prime Minister expressed a deep desire to further strengthen Pakistan’s relations, especially in trade, investment, agriculture, livestock, manpower export and health.
The Prime Minister said that Pakistan is looking forward to hosting a Kuwaiti prince for an official visit to Pakistan later this year.
The two leaders also exchanged views about regional and international issues, including the Middle East situation.
The Prince, the Prince, praised Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts to play an important role in peace in the region, bearing the plight of the Palestinian people to the international community.
The two leaders also confirmed their commitment to closely cooperate on bilateral and multilateral forums.
