Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif left for Doha to attend the Doha Islamic Summit on Monday, where leaders from about 50 states are expected to be deliberate on a draft resolution on Israel’s recent attack on Qatar.
The summit, which is under Pakistan’s joint patronage, has called for Israeli airstrikes and rising developments in Palestine after efforts to occupy Israeli Gaza, expand the resettlement activities in the occupied West Bank and forcibly expel Palestinians.
Prime Minister Shahbaz is accompanied by Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, and Assistant Prime Minister Tariq Fatimi.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar is already in Doha and attended a foreign meeting of the ministers of the ministers.
Following Israeli airstrikes on Doha, Prime Minister Shahbaz on September 11 visited Doha as a sign of solidarity and regional alliance, and expressed his commitment to Qatar’s irresponsible support and unwavering support for Qatar’s sovereignty and stability in the Middle East.
On the eve of the preparations for the Foreign Ministers, Ishaq Dar met with his Egyptian counterpart Dr. Badr Abdul Latti, Iranian counterpart Abbas Argchi, Turkish FM Hawkan Faden, Malaysian Foreign Minister Datu Mohammed Hassan, Bangladesh Fembers researcher, Turkey F.Me.
Addressing the ministerial meeting on Sunday, DPM Dar had said that Israel should be accountable for war crimes and crimes against humanity.
He added, “These negligence and provocative attacks create a clear violation of Qatar’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, which is contrary to the basic principles of international law, including the UN Charter, especially in its Article 2 (4), the use of danger or power.”
“We are once again gathering again this morning to discuss another illegal attack on the Israeli attack on a brotherhood. This was the last month when we met Israeli aggression in occupied Palestinian territories for an extraordinary meeting of the Foreign Council of Ministers in Jeddah.
“We recognize Qatar’s tirelessness and principle engagement with all sides, often in the most difficult situations, the dialogue channels to maintain open and advance possibilities of peace,” he said.
Ishaq Dar said that as a permanent member of the UNSC, Pakistan, along with the OIC and Arab partners, will continue to work to mobilize its bullying actions in the Middle East of Israel and the right of Palestinians for sovereignty, justice and peace.
To protect the global order, Dar said that Pakistan reaffirms the following urgent and necessary steps.
- Israel should be responsible for war crimes and crimes against humanity. It should not be allowed to invade Islamic countries and to imprison people.
- The formation of the Arab Islamic Task Force to monitor Israeli designs in the region and adopt effective obstacles and aggressive measures in harmony to prevent Israeli expansionist designs.
- According to a call by the OIC, we have to pursue the suspension of UN Israeli membership. Following this move will be a clear message of seriousness through the Ummah.
- Member States should actively consider the implementation of additional sanctions against Israel as a means of strengthening accountability and preventing further violations of international law.
- The UN Security Council will have to immediately demand Israel under the UN Charter’s Chapter VII to release the hostages, the release of hostages, and the exchange of Palestinian prisoners.
- Baddy, permanent and safe humanitarian access to protect all ordinary citizens and aid workers, medical teams and UN personnel in the needy.
- International law and restoration of a real and time -bound political process to achieve a fair, comprehensive and lasting two -state solution according to international law and the UN and OIC resolutions.
