ISLAMABAD: According to the Prime Minister’s Office, Islamabad: Pakistan on Monday signed a historic agreement with the United States Strategic Metals (USSM), which, according to the Prime Minister’s Office, paved the way for a $ 500 million initial investment in the country’s major minerals.
The commitment is after a high -level US delegation’s visit to the Prime Minister’s house after signing two memoirs (MUS), which included representatives from the World Mining and Infrastructure Group, USSM and Mota Angel.
The contracts cover the development and processing of important minerals, including logistics services, as well as logistics services.
The Frontier Works Organization (FWO), Pakistan’s largest minerals in Pakistan’s major minerals, located at a prominent location with USSM, a leading processor, recycler and miner based in the United States. This agreement sets up a framework for defense, aerospace, and a range of strategic minerals needed for technology industries.
Under the agreement, the partnership will begin with the immediate export of minerals such as antimony, copper, gold, tungsten and rare land elements such as minerals, while the USSM’s proprietary poly metal refinery will be established in Pakistan. This facility will produce intermediate and finished products to meet the growing demand for the US market.
The USSM located in the state of Missouri is focused on the manufacture and recycling of important minerals, which the United States Department of Energy has described as necessary in several technologies related to modern manufacturing and energy production.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif witnessed the signing of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir, and federal ministers. The delegation also held separate meetings with the COAS, Petroleum Minister, and the Minister of Commerce, to review Pakistan’s mineral wealth, including copper, gold and Rees.
According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, the purpose of cooperation is to unlock new opportunities in sustainable growth, technology transfer, and job opportunities, preferring environmental responsibility.
The statement added that future measures would include the formation of dedicated teams to identify important minerals for export, scale up exploration and processing operations, and to attract modern financing solutions to attract global investors.
Separately, the National Logistics Corporation (NLC) signed an MoU with the Mota Gospel Group to find a long -term partnership in engineering and construction. The global firm expressed interest in aligning Pakistan’s infrastructure development goals and expanding its presence in West Asia through local employment, technology sharing, and sustainable methods.

The US envoy added, “We look forward to seeing important minerals and future contracts in the fields of mining between US companies and their counterparts.”
In recent months, Washington’s relations with Islamabad have improved following US President Donald Trump’s interference in the armed conflict between Pakistan and India, which has resulted in a ceasefire. Pakistan also acquired a “historic agreement” with the United States, which reduces mutual revenue from 29 % to 19 %.
In April 2025, a senior US official emphasized the potential for Pakistan’s broad mineral resources, saying it could provide significant economic benefits for both Islamabad and Washington.
Eric Mayor, a senior official of the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs Bureau at the US Department of State, called on Pakistan’s importance to advance US interests in the field of critical minerals, enhancing economic cooperation, and ending the importance of counter -terrorism cooperation.
