Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Thursday removed all bureaucratic obstacles and pledged to maximize the Chinese investors as Pakistan and China signed 21 Memorandum of Understanding (21) of various sectors worth $ 21.2 billion.
During his keynote address at the second Pakistan China B2B Investment Conference in Beijing, the Prime Minister unveiled a new vision for the economic cooperation of Pakistan China.
Welcoming the high -level delegates, he described the forum as a reflection of the iron -hidden Brotherhood between Pakistan and China.
Referring to the concerns about the bureaucratic delay, Premier issued a clear and direct message: “We will not tolerate any delay of any other. I have recently made sure that a Chinese businessman has been facilitated within 24 hours. He has a level of affiliation.”
He assured the Chinese delegation about Pakistan’s affiliation with the convenience of investors, which states that Chinese investors will be considered a partner and that “Pakistan is your second home, as China is ours.”
The security of Chinese citizens in Pakistan, he said, is a top priority, adding: “Security of Chinese citizens is the most important.
“This is one of the biggest business conferences I attended during this great country visit.
The Prime Minister said, “Our relationship with China is more deeper than the Himalayas, deeper than deep seas, more sweet than honey and stronger than steel,” the Prime Minister said.
Referring to the CPEC agreement signed in 2015 during President Xi Jinping’s historic visit to Pakistan, Prime Minister Shahbaz conducted the first phase of the CPEC to change Pakistan’s energy and infrastructure landscape.
He noted, “We had to face power outages for 20 hours a day. Today, thanks to President XI’s dynamic and insightful leadership, Pakistan became self -sufficient. It was a crucial turning point.”
Premier announced the launch of CPEC 2.0, which will focus on investing business (B2B) from business (B2B) in agriculture, IT and AI, minerals and industrial relocation.
He emphasized on Chinese investors, “60 % of our population in our agriculture sector. China has performed well in this sector, and we want your partnership to modernize our agricultural methods and increase exports.”
He emphasized the role of a special economic zone (SEZS) in attracting investment, offering cheap skilled labor and joint ventures to produce high quality exports such as competitive benefits.
In the emotional accusation of his speech, Prime Minister Shahbaz made his first visit to China in 1982. “Even now, I said that China is in success, not failure. Today, China is the second largest economy and global military power, which removed more than 700 million people from poverty.
“This is the model I want to borrow and I want to make a copy in Pakistan,” he said.
He praised President Xi’s leadership in promoting multilateral and shared prosperity, saying that China has changed the destiny of many nations, which is proof of its “insight and dynamic leadership”.
In his closing remarks, he reaffirmed his commitment to change Pakistan’s economic landscape.
“We know the route is difficult, but not impossible. With China’s support and our determination, we will make Pakistan a strong and vibrant economy. Today, mark the beginning of this journey today.”
Chinese and Pakistani investors, government officials, and honorees, including Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Pakistan’s Ambassador to China Khalil Hashmi, and the Chairman of the China Council to promote international trade were present on the occasion.
