Chinese President Xi Jinping urged members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) to take advantage of their “mega -scale market” on Monday, unveiling their ambitions for a new global security and economic order that made the United States a challenge.
Addressing more than 20 world leaders at a two -day summit held at Port City, Tejan, northern China, XI said that the SCO has established a model for a new type of international relations.
“We must advocate for equal and organized multilateral, comprehensive economic globalization of the world and promote the construction of a more fair and equal global governance system,” he said.
He added that China will provide 2 billion yuan (0 280 million) free aid to the member states this year and will provide another 10 billion yuan loans to SCO Banking Consortium.
“We must take advantage of the mega scale market to improve trade and investment facilities,” said Xi.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Russia’s Vladimir Putin, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other leaders in Central Asia, Middle East, South Asia and Southeast Asia attended the opening ceremony at a major global solidarity show.
The security -based block, which began as a group of six Eurasian countries, has expanded 10 permanent members and 16 dialogue and observer countries in recent years.
XI criticized the “bullying behavior” in global discipline, and called on the organization’s partners to “oppose the mentality of the Cold War and the block conflict” and support the multi -faceted trade systems, which influenced the US President Donald Trump’s unprecedented warfare.
UN Secretary -General Antonio Guterres said that China played a “fundamental” role in maintaining global multilateral multilateral.
Analysts say China will use this year’s largest summit to use the alternative vision of global governance at the time of illegal policy -making for US -led international order, multilateral organizations and geopolitical fluxes to the US.
Beijing has also used the Summit as an opportunity to improve relations with New Delhi.
Modi, who has been in China on his first visit in seven years, and XI agreed on Sunday that his countries were development partners, not rivals, and discussed ways to improve trade relations during global tariff uncertainty.
Putin defended the Ukrainian attack in China Summit
Russian President Vladimir Putin tried to defend Ukraine’s aggression for Moscow allies, which accused of mobilizing a three -and -a -half -year war, killing tens of thousands and destroying most of eastern Ukraine.
“The crisis was not mobilized by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, but was the result of a rebellion in Ukraine, which was supported by the West,” Putin said in the SCO Summit.
This is a reference to Ukraine’s 2013-2014 supporter, which expelled Russia’s pro-president.
Moscow responded by annexing a civil war by annexing the peninsula and supporting Russian separatists in the east.
The Russian president added, “The second reason for this crisis is a constant effort to drag Ukraine to the West into NATO.”
Moscow and Beijing have defeated the SCO as an alternative to Western -led political and security blocks, including NATO.
Putin said the world “needs a system that will replace the outdated Euro Central and the Euro Atlantic model, and will also keep the interests of the vast circles of the countries”.
“We greatly appreciate the efforts and suggestions of China, India and our other strategic partners, which aims to help solve the Ukrainian crisis,” he added.
US President Donald Trump urged both Moscow and Kiev to attack the end of the war, and hesitates the peace proposals.
Putin has rejected the demands of the ceasefire and has presented tough letters regional and political demands – Ukraine has demanded to stop further territory and abandon Western backing – as a prerequisite for peace.
Kiev has rejected them as a non -starting.
The Russian leader said he would discuss his latest talks with diplomacy and bilateral meetings with Trump to end the dispute.
