According to a letter from the AFP, France, the United Kingdom and Germany on Thursday began a mechanism for failing to comply with the UN sanctions on Iran to comply with their nuclear program.
An Iranian senior official immediately accused the three European powers of damaging diplomacy and vowed that Tehran would not pressure the E3 move to launch the so -called “Snapback Mechanism”.
The three powers feared that they would lose prejudice to restore sanctions on Tehran in mid -October, which were raised under the 2015 nuclear deal with world powers.
French Foreign Minister Jean Noel Beirut said the decision did not indicate the end of diplomacy. His German counterpart, Johann Woodol, called on Iran to now cooperate fully with the UN Nuclear Care Agency and pledge to have a direct dialogue with the United States next month.
An Iranian senior official told Reuters that the decision was “illegal and regrettable” but left the door open for engagement.
The official said, “The move is an action against diplomacy, there is no chance. Diplomacy with Europe will continue,” the official added: “Iran will not be under pressure.”
The UN Security Council will meet behind closed doors at the request of E3 on Friday to discuss Snapback measures against the Islamic Republic, diplomats said.
Israel and the United States have held several rounds of talks only after Israel and the United States bombed its nuclear installations in mid -June, which aims to delay the Snapback mechanism. But it is believed that the talks in Geneva on Tuesday did not make a lot of concrete promises to Iran.
E3, on Thursday, alleged that Iran had violated the 2015 agreement, which aims to prevent the potential for nuclear weapons in exchange for lifting international sanctions. E3, Russia, China and the United States, had a party with the agreement.
US President Donald Trump, during his first term, ousted Washington from the deal in 2018, and called the deal unilateral in favor of Iran. His second administration had indirect talks with Tehran earlier this year.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio welcomed the E -3 move, saying that European residents have presented a clear issue of Tehran’s “significant inefficiency” on their nuclear promises.
Rubio said the United States is available for direct engagement with Iran’s “peaceful, sustainable resolution” for direct engagement with Iran.
An Iranian source said that Tehran only “if Washington guarantees it will not happen. [military] Strike during the conversation “.
The E3 said he hoped that Iran would give promises to its nuclear program by the end of September to postpone concrete action for them.
In a letter sent to the UN Security Council and in a letter to Reuters, he said, “E3 is determined to make every diplomatic tool that Iran never produces nuclear weapons. It also includes a ‘snapback’ mechanism today through this notification.”
“Nevertheless, the E3 commitment to the diplomatic solution is steadfast.
Earlier, Iran has warned of “harsh reaction” if sanctions have been restored and the Iranian official has said it is reviewing its powers, including withdrawal from the nuclear non -proliferation agreement.
The E3 offered to increase Snapback for a maximum of six months to be able to be able to negotiate if Iran resumed the UN’s full inspection – which will also calculate Iran’s enriched uranium reservoir, which has not been confirmed since the June strike – and in the United States.
Growing frustration in Iran
The UN implementation takes 30 days before the sanctions that will restore Iran’s financial, banking, hydrocarbon and defense sectors.
Three internal governments close to the government said that the growing fear of UN renewal is causing frustration in Iran, where economic anxiety is increasing and political division is deepening.
Since the possibility of severe international sanctions is in danger of being isolated the Islamic Republic, officials in Tehran are separated.
Iran’s rial has weakened rapidly on Wednesday after Reuters reported the E3 to mobilize UN sanctions.
Iran has reinforced uranium up to 60 feisisly, which is a small step in about 90 90 % of the grade versus grade, and for six nuclear weapons before air strikes by Israel from this level, if this level was further improved, its level was enriched.
In fact, the manufacture of a weapon will take longer, and IAEA has said that although it cannot guarantee Tehran’s nuclear program, it is completely peaceful, but there is no credible indication of the integrated weapons project.
The West says the development of Iran’s nuclear program is beyond civilian needs, while Tehran says it wants nuclear energy only for peaceful purposes.
