Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) said Tuesday that Kabir Pashtunnah police, along with the Anti -Terrorism Department (CTD), neutralized at least nine militants during a joint operation in the Upper Dare District.
Talking to Geo News, SSP Syed Mohammad Bilal, the operation against the fitta -ablution terrorists continued for three consecutive days in an area of about 20 20 square kilometers.
SSP Bilal said, “Five bodies of terrorists have been recovered and others are searching.”
“It is raining and the weather here is bad, and the area contains forests and peaks, which is why the clearance operation is passing.”
Police, Elite Force, and Rapid Response Force personnel participated in operations in several areas, including Hill Top, Dododo Dara, Masala Banda, Shandal Bagh, Atan Dara, Bagh Kali, Sanjar and Shandal Bagh.
The SSP added that during the clashes, two civilians lost their lives, while 10 police and CTD personnel were injured.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has praised the Anti -Terrorism Department and police officers and personnel for his successful operation against the FTNA al -Qaeda.
In a statement released today, he praised the professional capabilities of the forces involved, and noted their success in eliminating the nine Khawaj militants during this operation.
Prime Minister Shahbaz also expressed his deep sorrow over the martyrdom of the civilians during the operation and prayed for their ranks and patience for their bereaved families.
He prayed for the speedy recovery of more injured personnel and directed them to provide the best medical care.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also praised KP police and CTD for a successful operation in the DR, which led to the elimination of nine terrorists.
In a statement, the Minister praised the professionalism and bravery of the security forces, saying that his timely action had thwarted the “blasphemous design” of the terrorists.
Naqvi said, “By sending nine terrorists to their final end, KP Police and CTD have shown extraordinary courage and professionalism.” “I salute the brave Sons of the police and the CTD for this great achievement. The whole nation is proud of his bravery.”
Pakistan has witnessed the increase in terrorist activities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Balochistan provinces since 2021.
In May this year, Pakistan saw a slight increase in militant attacks, even as neighboring country failed to increase military tensions with India.
According to a report released by a think tank, Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICS) based in Islamabad, the country observed 78 terrorist attacks during the month of June, resulting in at least 100 deaths.
The deaths included 53 security personnel, 39 civilians, six militants, and two members of the local peace committees.
A total of 189 people were injured, including 126 members of security forces and 63 civilians.
Overall, violence and operations resulted in 175 deaths in June – 55 security personnel, 77 militants, 41 civilians, and two members of the Peace Committee.
Security forces, along with law enforcement agencies (LEA), are conducting actions against terrorists and even launched a target operation against militants in KP Bajur.
Earlier this month, the forces also fired 47 Indian -backed terrorists during separate operations in Zhob district of Balochistan, and tried to infiltrate Afghanistan.
