It is 9.30am, March 3, 2009. In Lahore, a Test match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka is underway at Gaddafi Stadium. A team leading to Sri Lanka goes on a bus hotel on a trip to the Acewan kilometers where the team is living with the stadium. After that, a minority takes the umpires and other match officials. Near the city’s famous Liberty Square, less than a kilometer from the ground, vehicles set fire to terrorists equipped with automatic guns, hand grenades, grenades and rockets. In exchange for the fire, eight people lost their lives and six were injured. Instant thinking and part of the Corgon bus driver, who are continuing to take the bus to the stadium on its flat tires, prevents the tragedy. The driver of the minon stood and a police officer jumped to drive the vehicle.
The incident sent shock waves to the world of cricket. The teams refused to visit Pakistan, so, they lost their position of international Test venue. There has been no Test matches in Pakistan for ten long years and the team adopted the United Arab Emirates as their home for Test cricket. This nomadic decade creates the deserted years of our cricketing history.
During his years away from the Home Turf, the Pakistan team played 88 Tests, won 33 and defeated 41, while 14 Tests were prepared. During the same period, Pakistan participated in 232 ODIs, of which they won 109 and lost 116. Five ‘no results’ were finished and 2 were equal. As far as T20 is concerned, Pakistan played 127, they won 79 and lost 48.
The number indicates a mixed bag and the figures do not lie. It was a tumultuous ride, even in times of familiarity. Although domestic audiences were denied the opportunity to practically see their national stars, the United Arab Emirates provided a pleasant alternative domestic base, providing a sense of a supportive domestic sheep, with a large foreign population of Pakistanis.
Despite these difficulties due to the lack of international cricket at home, the Pakistan team presented some memorable performances during this decade.
1. ICCT20 World Cup Victory (2009)
This was the most important achievement of the decade. Just two years after losing to India in the inaugural T20 World Cup final, Pakistan won the 2009 edition under the leadership of Younis Khan. Shahid Afridi was performing well in the tournament. A remarkable magic of a fast half -century and 2 runs in the semi -finals against Australia was very important for Pakistan’s victory. In the final vs Sri Lanka, Afridi scored fifty more in his trademark’s explosive manner and took the lead in the eight wickets at Lord’s, along with wickets. In both of these games it was properly named the match of the match.
2. ICC Champions Trophy Victory (2017)
It is considered as a very remarkable and unexpected victory in the history of the tournament. Pakistan entered the 2017 Champions Trophy in England as the lowest ranking team in the competition. After the defeat of India in its first match, Pakistan bounced back to defeat the advanced South Africa Sri Lanka to qualify for the semi -finals. In the semi -finals, Pakistan dropped a strong England team by eight wickets to reach the final.
In a historic final against India, India’s performance was another example of its unexpected talent. Fakhar Zaman, playing his fourth international innings, targeted a brave century of the one -century. Mohammad Amir, with a devastating opening magic, abolished India’s high order. Pakistan contested 180 runs in the World ICC One Day after the 1992 World Cup, their first Champions Trophy title and their first win.
3. Test series win against England (2012)
Against traditional wisdom and violation of the ICC rating system, Pakistan whitewashed England, which is currently an advanced Test team, which is 3-0 in the three-match series in the United Arab Emirates. Pakistan’s Saeed Ajmal and Abdul Rahman claimed the riots, and they claimed 43 wickets at a cost of 15.60 runs. During the third Test, Pakistan became the sixth party in the history of the Test, and the first after 1907, the first, winning the Test after being dismissed for the U -100 in the first innings.
4. Test Series win against Australia (2014)
It was a dominant performance against a strong Australian team. Pakistan won the two-match series 2-0 in the United Arab Emirates on the back of a really amazing individual batting performance. They almost succeeded with almost embarrassing ease, moving Australia as some parties have ever done. Pakistan’s collective batting in the series was the average surprising 80.15 and when Australia provided the biggest time difference in the Australian series defeat against 25.65. The series was memorable for Yunus Khan’s incredible form, where he scored a century in three of his four innings-which included a century in each innings in the first Test and double sod in the second. Captain Misbah -ul -Haq and Azhar Ali both scored a century in each innings in the second Test. Misbah also said the fastest test of the second test, equivalent to a record of the century, with the Australian invasion reached just three figures in just 56 balls.
5. Test series win in Sri Lanka (2015)
It was a classic return series that showcased the team’s fighting. After losing the first Test, Pakistan staged a rally to win the second and third matches to claim the series 2-1. In the final match, a thrilling final was observed in the Placil, in which Younis Khan scored a brilliant 171 in which Pakistan was not guided to win the record of 377 runs. The series against the rival of the subcontinent was an important part of Pakistan’s journey to ranking No. 1 in Test cricket.
Interestingly, Pakistan has successfully chased more than 300 targets in just three occasions in its entire Test cricketing journey and Sri Lanka has been opposed every time. Two of them were in the deserted years, one in Pulkil and the other in Sharjah in 2014, when Azhar Ali’s century because of Pakistan, Pakistan scored 302 for 5 to go to the winning post.
6. Test series win against England (2015)
In the United Arab Emirates series, Pakistan wanted to win the 2012 performance of 2012 against England 3-0. They approached, winning the series 2-0 to maintain their unbeaten series record in the United Arab Emirates and to reach the No. 2 position in the world rankings.
7. Historical Test Series Draw in England (2016)
It was Pakistan’s first series in England since his sharp trips in 2006 and 2010, and a clear moment for Misbah -ul -Haq’s Test aspect. The series began with a wonderful victory for Pakistan at the historic Lord’s Ground. In the first innings, the century of Misbah, followed by the pus of celebrities later, became a famous picture for the tour. It was probably appropriate that the last wicket of English was taken by Mohammad Amir, who was one of the suspects in the spot -fixing story six years ago, who had frustrated a whole nation. Despite losing the next two matches, Pakistan’s flexibility saw him back to win the final test in the Oval, which won 2-2 in the four-match series.
8. Getting No. 1 Test rating (2016)
In August 2016, for the first time since the ICC Test rating in 2003, Pakistan went to the top. This was particularly noteworthy because he achieved it while playing all his “home” series in the United Arab Emirates (United Arab Emirates). He was constantly visiting his native country, family and friends for large parts of the year. Their ability to perform permanently at neutral and abroad locations against high teams was proof of their skills and mental reinforcement. For the party who had not played a single test at the home ground for more than seven years to achieve this high ranking, and it is never likely to be equal.
9. Charted the new area compared to the West Indies
It was during the years of the wilderness that Pakistan played its first day or night or pink ball test. This was the first test of the three -match series against the West Indies in the United Arab Emirates in 2016. It was also Pakistan’s 400th Test and Azhar Ali celebrated the occasion with an unbeaten triple century, which became the fourth Pakistani batsman to reach the milestone. Pakistan won the series 2-1.
Next year, what will be a farewell series for both Misbah -ul -Haq and Younis Khan, finally Pakistan managed to defeat the West Indies in the West Indies. He took them 8 tour and do so for more than 59 years. Misbah ended his career during the series with two scores of 99, including unbeaten.
10. More successes of white ball
Under the leadership of Misbah -ul -Haq, Pakistan participated in the 2012 Asia Cup in Bangladesh, which defeated the host team by just two runs in the thrilling final.
In 2012-13, Misbah also won 2-1 in the three ODIs in India.
In 2013, in Pakistan, South Africa became the first team to win the T20 series on their home turf. Pakistan also became the first Asian team to win the ODI series in South Africa later this year.
11. Two Stalwarts of the decade
After the 2010 spot -fixing scandal, Misbah -ul -Haq’s leadership played a vital role in reconstruction of the team. His calm behavior provided the most essential stability to the atmosphere of a chaos and often chaos team. The mucus and indifferent, Misbah did not look for light or revolution. He focused on doing the work. He won 26 in 56 Tests as captain. In the United Arab Emirates, the Wilden’s Home adopted Pakistan’s adopted home in the years, he shepherding the national team by a seven -year unbeaten run. He never lost the ‘home’ series. He was the only captain whose team whitewashed both England and Australia.
In addition to his leadership, his batting performance was very important. His technique was easy and complicated: defense at speed, attack against spin. He could have moved to a brutal attack without a slow plating, without interruption. Its record -maker was achieved in the same innings, both in the same innings, in the same innings, both in the same innings, in the same innings, both in the same innings, which is a classic example of their ability to easily accelerate when needed.
In the years, he scored 4509 runs, scoring an average of 47.46, which formed a strong middle order with Younis Khan.
Younus was the foundation stone of Pakistan’s Test party during this period. He became the first Pakistani player to score 10,000 Test runs, arrived at this milestone on April 23, 2017. UNESO created a niche as one of the most successful batsmen in the fourth innings of a test for himself.
His fourth innings is a record of the century and his 1465 runs are in the fourth innings of Tests on average 50.51, making it one of only six batsmen, with more than 50 runs in the average and more than 1,000 runs in the fourth innings. During the years, Younis scored 4970 runs, scoring an average of 52.31.
Interestingly, it was Yunus instead of a mosque, which was actually designed for captaincy. PCB Chairman Shahir Khan appointed him the deputy of insoming in 2005. However, when the time came for him to take power in 2006, Yunus refused because, as he said in his words, he did not want to be a “dummy captain”.
He wanted the mosque on his own, but the selectors chose Faisal Iqbal. Younus briefly captured the national party, which led to him to win the 2009 World T20 Championship, but resigned immediately after a politician accused him of “fixing”. The PCB responded by banning life, which resulted in it missing England’s notorious tour in 2010. The ban was lifted ten months later when Misbah took over the team.
Misbah and Younus formed a great pair that maintained the national team during their darkest hours, and raised it from Abis to the peak of the cranking pyramid of the world.
12. PSL start
Among the years of riots of the Wildennas, the PSL or the Pakistan Super League was launched by the PCB in 2015, with the opening season in 2016, the 2016 season was held in 2016. Initially, five teams were competed. The next year took place in Pakistan and by 2020, the entire tournament moved to major Pakistani cities.
Wilden was a trial time for Pakistan cricket. The national team is still recovering from its impact, a whole generation of emerging capabilities have been denied the opportunity to compete against the tour of international teams.
