Hugging the true essence of diversity can have many implications in the spectrum, including sports. Adopting and implementing diversity views can have a profound and positive impact on Pakistani sports in multiple ways.
Dependent on a limited number of sports
For a long time, Pakistan has been relying on all three sports cricket, squash and hockey. It was returned in 1992 when we reached our highest point when Imran Khan’s team won the ICC One Day World Cup and took pride in the country.
However, in the meantime, Pakistan’s good fortune was falling in other major sports, including hockey and squash.
The Olympic Games are a good step for the country’s international location. And here is the negative aspect of shocking.
From 1992 to 2024, Pakistan went to any program without any medal, not even a bronze medal. Also, he never won a gold medal in the single players event, even as the Nadim Irshad Jewelen throwing, won the gold medal for his country at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The disturbing fact is that Pakistan took 77 years to win its first gold medal in the individual player’s category.
At present, Pakistan relies heavily on cricket to win its honor in sports. (i) There is an urgent need to stabilize sports that we know that IE hockey, squash and cricket (HSC) and (II) are more importantly to be diverse in other sports.
Current sports stability
As far as HSC Sports is concerned, Pakistan was regarded as one of the top countries. For example in hockey, Pakistan won the men’s hockey World Cup and the Olympic gold medals four times. A record of 30 British Open titles and 17 World Open titles, showing its full dominance. Like hockey, titles in squash are now history. This is a different hair game. This is not just a game, it is a national passion, especially when it is competed against their old rivals. Various presence won international tournaments, and their presence was felt by the ICC One Day World Rankings in 2023 through the # 1 ranked team, # 1 Test rankings in 2016 and the top slot rankings in T20 in 2018. One record shows Pakistan’s capabilities and competition in various forms of sports.
There have been some positive results for squash and hockey, though in the recent past, which has resurrected the nation’s hope for the return of by -one. In a remarkable performance in squash, Pakistan has to win by defeating Egypt by defeating 2025 U -23 World Squash Championship in the final. (Pakistan’s Noor Zaman defeated Egypt’s Karen El Terki). Women of Pakistan are also making waves in squash. In the same incident where Noor won the honor for Pakistan, our lady squash player Amin Fayaz also announced the silver medal in the WSF 2025 U -23 U -23 World Squash Championship. He really made a silver layer for a silver lining.
Even in hockey, Pakistan is returning. He reached the final of the famous Sultan Azlan Shah Cup of 2024, which was a great achievement itself and can be seen as a restoration of hockey in Pakistan. Under these captains, the trend of captains was shown further in Pelstan, which led to the trend of restoration of Packistan and re -implemented the rehabilitation trend in Packistan. Until the finals remained unbeaten, which they lost 3-0 to Japan. However, his overall performance in the Sultan Azlan Shah Tournament of 2024 and once again in the U -18 Asia Cup of 2025 reached his young men with skills, ability and flexibility, which was once an important sign of Pakistan’s supremacy in hockey at a high international level.
With pre -established infrastructure that includes stadiums, training facilities and governing bodies for all three sports, all stakeholders need a strong leadership and flexibility, as well as to encourage the current and incoming generations to encourage past successes to encourage the spark to upgrade.
Diversity is required
Pakistan has been relying on its three national sports – cricket, hockey and squash for a long time. Where cricket is still the most popular game, we have failed to maintain the same level of supremacy in the other two. Games like Fortermore, cricket, get limited international coverage due to countries playing less cricket than football.
Beyond cricket diversity can create more international exhibitions and opportunities, increase overall sports revenue and discover more athletic capabilities. Despite removing anything from cricket, the fact is that cricket is more region, while looks like football and tennis. Up to a billion viewers, the FIFA World Cup event can attract more than 3.5 billion viewers from a very wide area of population. Earlier, from a commercial angle, the football market is significantly higher and is more attracted to sponsorship. Thus the funds received by football tournaments can be included in the infrastructure construction, training facilities.
Tennis is another game that enjoys popularity in Pakistan and is a good candidate when considering diversity. Players like Usman -ul -Haq have enjoyed the remarkable achievements by reaching the US Open Doubles and mixed doubles final in 2010. It is a very beautiful in the past, not young people can be countered with an inspiration in terms of tennis. Arrives, and attracts more diverse global audience. There is a good step to promote tennis and other sports in the country between the two sports organizations, namely PCB and PTF. Increasing the existing infrastructure, including tennis, and the construction of a new tennis court. According to the PTF president, “the country is suffering from capabilities not only in cricket but also in tennis.”
There are other sports where Pakistani athletes have received past successes, including snooker, boxing, wrestling, shooting, indoor roving, etc., which guarantees special attention in the matter of diversity.
The most recent sports are expected at least when Pakistan claimed a wonderful victory over the Maldives to win the Asian Youth Girls Netball Championship 2025. Explorating its extraordinary abilities in the team tournament, the team was unbeaten.
Finally, the time has come for us to launch a dynamic program to promote multiple sports and reduce our dependence on the same game. The distribution of sports is the key to exploiting the capabilities of our current youth and identifying and developing new things. We need to invest in sports infrastructure, especially in schools and to promote coaching facilities and coaching facilities.
