The US Supreme Court upheld an executive order issued by President Donald Trump on Tuesday, allowing the federal government to reduce staff in several departments and reduce the agency.
On Tuesday, February was launched by a Trump executive order in which agencies were ordered to prepare for a large scale. Under Trump’s direction, the administration has brought plans to reduce US departments’ agriculture, trade, health and human services, state, treasury, veterans and more than a dozen soldiers.
In a brief signed order, the court said the Trump administration was “the possibility of succeeding” in the argument that his directive was legally under his control.
This decision is the latest victory for Trump’s wider efforts to strengthen power at the Executive Branch. In January, the Supreme Court has supported Trump in several cases when he returned to office in January, including clearing the path for the implementation of his tough line immigration policies.
The Supreme Court’s decision on Tuesday terminated the order of US District Judge Susan Elston based in San Francisco, which temporarily stopped the federal leave.
Elston had ruled that Trump exceeded his authority to reduce the government without consulting the Congress, which created the agencies in question and provided financial support for it.
Elston wrote, “As history shows, the president can only reorganize federal agencies when adopted by Congress.”
Although Tuesday’s decision removed a major legal barrier to the White House, the court noted that it was not assessing the legal status of a special holiday in federal agencies.
The proposals for these holidays, some of which were presented earlier this year, still face legal challenges on a number of grounds, including opposition to the union, legal sanctions and civil service reservations.
The White House said in a statement that the decision was a “final victory for the president and his administration, which reinforced Trump’s authority to enforce” federal government’s performance “.
However, two sources in the White House, who were aware of the matter, said to be unknown, said the decision was not allowed to implement agencies immediately. Additional delays or legal barriers “can change the scope and time of deductions, a source said.”
A group of unions, non -profit organizations and a group of local governments, who have filed a lawsuit to stop the administration’s large -scale. The decision has “a severe blow to our democracy and presented the services on which the American people trust in serious danger,” and the issue of fighting.
The plaintiffs had warned in the judicial jurisdiction that Trump’s plans, if allowed to move forward, would result in hundreds of thousands of holidays.
In April, the Reuters/IPSOS survey revealed that the Americans supported Trump’s campaign to reduce the federal government, in which about 56 56 % say they supported the effort and 40 % opposed it. His views on party letters were broken, 89 % of Republicans but only 26 % of Democrats are assistant.
Some agencies under which plans were stopped, said they would resume their efforts.
On X, “We will continue to move forward with our historical reorganization plan.”

After taking office in January, Trump launched a massive campaign to reduce the 2.3 million strong federal civilian manpower under the leadership of billionaire Elon Musk and his department.
Kasturi and most of its young lieutenants were immediately transferred to key government agencies, dismissed workers, accessed government computer systems, and practically closed the two agencies – the US Agency for International Development and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
Trump and Musk said that the federal bureaucracy needs to be reduced. Federal workers’ unions and most Democrats say so far deductions, and widespread discomfort. The plans have been carried out to a great extent, leading to chaos within many agencies and claims to be a major public service, such as social security.
According to a Reuters, by the end of April, for about 100 days, the government’s rehabilitation resulted in the firing, resignation and initial retirement of 260,000 government employees.
Liberal Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson was the only member of the court of nine people who disagreed with Tuesday’s decision, criticizing the court’s enthusiasm for the president’s legally green light in the emergency currency. “
Tuesday’s decision extended Trump’s winning record in the Supreme Court since taking office. The court has allowed the Trump administration to deport immigrants in other countries other than themselves to provide them with the opportunity to face the losses that they can face the temporary legal status of hundreds of thousands of immigrants.
In addition, it has allowed Trump to ban transgender people in the US Army, withholding a judge’s order that the administration has restored thousands of dismissed employees and banned the power of federal judges so that they impose obstacles to presidential policies.
Most of these decisions have been issued as emergency orders, known as Shadow Dictation as a bid, which responds to requests for immediate action from the court.
