Pakistan, China and Russia have jointly appealed to the Middle East for immediate hostility, and urged the UN Security Council (UNSC) to approve a resolution demanding an unconditional ceasefire in the region.
The conflict intensified after a major development as the United States has claimed that it has identified the most important Western military intervention against Iran after the Islamic Revolution of 1979, after connecting with Israeli forces, destroying an important Iranian nuclear strike to curb the country’s suspected nuclear ambitions.
Addressing a UN Security Council meeting yesterday, UN Secretary -General Antonio Guterres said that the bombing of Iranian nuclear facilities by the United States is a “dangerous turning point”.
Since the world waited for Iran’s response to US attacks, UNSC met to discuss the development of Tehran’s request when it rained missiles on Israel, despite Trump’s warning of “more” consequences, even if he did not stop hostility.
China and Russia condemned the US attacks, while Pakistan supported Tehran and supported its right to defend its defense, citing violations of international law.
The UN chief said there should be an immediate ceasefire and “serious, permanent negotiations”.
He told the 15 -member council, “People in the region cannot tolerate another cycle of destruction. And yet, we now take the risk of taking revenge after retaliation.”
Iran’s UN ambassador to Iran Amir Saeed Irwani accused Israel and the United States of destroying diplomacy, saying that all US allegations were baseless and that the nuclear non -proliferation agreement was “linked to a political weapon.”
“Instead of guaranteeing the legitimate nuclear energy rights of the parties, it has been exploited as an excuse for aggression and illegal action, which jeopardizes my country’s highest interests,” Irawani told the council.
Meanwhile, Israeli UN ambassador Danny Denon praised the United States for taking action against Iran.
“When every other line has failed, the defense looks like the last line.” He accused Iran of accusing his nuclear program of using negotiations as a leap and buying missiles and buying time to strengthen uranium.
He told the council, “The price of inadequacy would have been destructive. Nuclear Iran would sentence you to death as much as it was for us.”
‘A serious threat to safety’
Addressing the 15 -member body, the Permanent Representative of the United Nations Asim Iftikar’s Permanent Representative said that history reflects that the use of power and unilateral military actions only deepens conflicts and increases division.
“We should now work to prevent the situation from getting out of control further [….] Dialogue and diplomacy have been the only viable path, “the UN’s Permanent Representative of Asim Iftikar’s Permanent Representative told the UNSC Huddle Amid the rapidly unstable situation in the region.
Ambassador Iftikhar echoed the statement issued by the Foreign Office, condemning the US bombings and supporting Iran’s right to defend itself, and expressed regret over the attacks on nuclear places that “dangerous ideas and a serious threat to the protection and safety of the population around the world and around the world.”
Condemning the attacks on IAEA -protected facilities, Elichi said that Islamabad has joined China and Russia in circulating the draft resolution demanding a “immediate and unconditional ceasefire”.
The resolution “also needs to refrain from further increase. The immediate protection of ordinary citizens and civilian infrastructure is demanded and the Iranian nuclear issue supports a diplomatic route that is acceptable to all parties.”
Repeating Pakistan’s support for Iran, the UN representative emphasized that the rapid increase in tensions and violence as a result of Israeli aggression and illegal acts was very disturbing and “there is a danger to further affecting the destructive consequences of the region and beyond.”
China, Russia condemns US intervention
Condemning US strikes, Chinese UN ambassador Fu Kang took a similar stand that peace in the Middle East cannot be achieved by the use of force.
“The diplomatic means of resolving the Iranian nuclear issue have not ended, and there is still a peaceful solution,” he added.
Meanwhile, Russia’s UN ambassador to Nibzia called on former US Secretary of State Colin Powell to present a case in 2003 at the UN Security Council, saying that Iraqi President Saddam Hussein had made the country’s chemical and biological weapons reservoir to the world.
“Once again, we are being asked to believe in America’s fairy tales, once again to hurt millions of people living in the Middle East,” he said. We believe that history has taught our American allies nothing. “
Although it is not immediately clear when the Council can vote on the draft resolution, the three countries have asked the members of the Council to share their comments by Monday evening. At least nine votes are needed in favor of a resolution and there is no veto from the US, France, the United Kingdom, Russia or China.
It is likely that the United States will oppose the draft resolution that also condemns attacks on Iran’s nuclear locations and facilities. The text does not have the name of the United States or Israel.
Since the attack on its nuclear facilities, the Iranian parliament has supported the Strait Harmos – the move to stop the world’s major trading passage.
Iran has criticized the United States for sabotaging diplomatic efforts with its strikes, calling on the international community that “global principles and diplomacy are a direct threat”.
FM Aragchi said, “We were in the middle of talks. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi said during a press conference during the Islamic Cooperation Organization (OIC) summit in Istanbul on Sunday,” It was not Iran that left.
