Former Pakistani Foreign Minister Bilal Bhutto-Zaidari has warned US lawmakers and diplomats that the threat of a full-scale war with India is now higher than ever, as according to him, India’s recent actions have “dangerously reduced the doorstep” for an armed conflict in the region.
His statements increased the tension between the two countries after a deadly attack in Pahalgam, after a deadly attack in Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
Talking to the New York Post in an exclusive interview, the 36 -year -old chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) expressed his gratitude for Washington’s role in achieving the ceasefire.
“We are incredibly grateful to the role that the US Government – President Trump, Secretary [of State] Marco Rubio – We have all been created in this crisis to help you achieve this ceasefire, “Bilawal said.
“But our message has been that ceasefire is a beginning. But, this is just a beginning, and what we seek helps to achieve our peace through dialogue and diplomacy.”
Bilawal added that the region was not as safe as before India’s unilateral measures. The young PPP chief said, “We are much less secure than before.”
“As a result of this conflict, the threshold of the military conflict between Pakistan and India has been greatly reduced.
On April 22, terrorists killed at least 26 civilians in IIOJK’s Pahalgam. New Delhi plans to attack Islamabad, the claim was denied by Pakistani leaders.
Following the incident, India unilaterally launched an operation, launched an operation and killed several innocent civilians in indiscriminate attacks on Pakistan. After the indiscriminate attacks of Indian forces for three days, Pakistan’s armed forces responded with the successful Operations Bonean Um-Marsus, which Islamabad said was carried out in its defense.
Pakistan dropped six IAF fighter jets, including three Rafael, and dozens of drones. At least 87 hours later, the war between the two nuclear armed countries ended May 10 with a ceasefire agreement by the United States.
Since the Pahalgam incident, Islamabad has repeatedly called on India to share reliable evidence with Pakistani authorities and demand a neutral and independent investigation by international organizations.
Speaking in London on June 9, Bilawal said: “India accused Pakistan of being involved in the first attack without any evidence. We offered an independent international investigation into the incident.”
The Pakistani delegation, who visited Washington last week, said that Pakistan was open to work with India on counter -terrorism efforts. However, he strongly denied any kind of participation in the recent IIOJK attack.
Zardari said, “The Prime Minister of Pakistan offered a neutral international investigation because we believe that Pakistan is not involved in the terrorist incident.”
“The International Intelligence community confirms this theory.”
“Since matters are now standing, if there is a terrorist attack anywhere in India,” he added, “it means immediate war, and the law of mutual cooperation means, so if there is any terrorist attack in Pakistan, we will treat it as a war process.”
The young politician also warned that the threat to preventing Pakistan’s water supply to India is a serious problem, which has called it a “existential matter” and said it will be seen as a “process of war”.
“If we engage in a new dialogue with India, make new promises with each other that could potentially lead to new agreements, so it is very important that they follow old agreements like Indus Water Agreement,” he said.
After visits to Washington, New York and London, a high -level parliamentary delegation from Islamabad has reached Brussels.
A nine -member delegation led by Bilawal will meet with senior European Union and Belgian officials during a visit to Brussels.
New Delhi’s provocation and aggression have been entrusted against Islamabad, the delegation will inform European authorities about India’s anti -Pakistan intentions and aggressive actions. With European authorities, the delegation is also scheduled to meet European think tanks and leading international media representatives in Brussels.
