ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Saturday held a telephone conversation with several Muslim world leaders, in which the wishes of the hot Eid -ud -din were increased and diplomatic goodwill was promoted.
According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), Prime Minister Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al -Tani expressed his best wishes to Eid Mubarak and his best wishes to “Qatar’s brotherhood”.
He thanked Qatari Aamir’s “active diplomacy” and constructive role in addressing tensions between Pakistan and India during the recent crisis.
He especially praised his telephone call at the height of the crisis, as well as the role of Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister.
The two leaders reaffirmed their general desire to enhance relations through mutual beneficial trade and investment.
Qatari Amir took revenge on the Prime Minister’s Eid congratulations and expressed his best wishes for the people of Pakistan. The two leaders agreed to stay in touch and meet each other at an early occasion.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shahbaz also telephoned with his Malaysian counterpart Dato, Siri Anwar Ibrahim, in which the two confirmed their commitment to strengthen bilateral cooperation in several fields, including trade, investment and culture.
The two leaders also prayed for peace and the protection of innocent Palestinians in Gaza.
He thanked Malaysia for his support and balanced stance during the Pakistan India crisis, which demanded de -sclection and dialogue.
The Prime Minister emphasized that Pakistan has always struggled for regional peace and stability. He added, “However, he had no choice but to give India’s military aggression a quick and decisive response.”
He added that Pakistan has accepted the offer of a ceasefire understanding by the United States and other friendly countries in the interest of regional peace and security. He reiterated that Pakistan is ready to discuss with India on all residual issues including Jammu and Kashmir.
In a telephonic conversation with Tajik President Emimali Rehman, the Prime Minister emphasized that Pakistan has always tried to maintain peace and security in the region, and that in the same spirit he has agreed to understand the ceasefire with India, which has been broken by the United States and other friendly countries.
He thanked Tajikistan for a balanced position for peace and dialogue during the recent Pakistan India crisis.
In his remarks, President Emimali Rehman praised Pakistan’s efforts for regional peace and security. The two leaders also exchanged Eid greetings with each other.

In addition, Prime Minister Shahbaz spoke on the telephone with Azerbaijan President Al -Hamayev and congratulated the President, his family as well as the brother of the country.
He thanked President Aliyev for his recent visit to him, where he attended the Independence Day celebrations of Azerbaijan and participated in the Pakistan-Zarbajan-Turkish trilateral summit.
The Prime Minister once again thanked the President of Azerbaijan, for the recent Pakistan-India crisis for Azerbaijan’s unwavering support to Pakistan, which showed a strong brotherhood between the two countries.
The two leaders confirmed their joint commitment to further strengthening the Pakistan-Zerbian bilateral cooperation, and was waiting for his upcoming interactions during President Al-Hamayev’s visit to Islamabad later this year, along with the Eco-Summit in Azerbaijan in early July.
