ISLAMABAD: After playing the role of passive by -standing by the controversial Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) elections on May 27, the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) finally implemented. A whole week later, it seems that monitoring the federation’s elections is actually under its official mandate.
PSB has sent letters to the Alpine Club of Pakistan, Pakistan Bodybuilding Federation (POA and OCA), and the Tanipine Bowling Federal (non -affiliated with the POA), which has announced the electoral schedule under the supervision of the PSB -connected Election Commission.
According to the PSB notification, elections for these institutions are due on June 20. All elections will take place at different times at the PSB Coaching Center in Lahore. However, the answer to the move is far from unanimous. The Alpine Club of Pakistan, which is not affiliated with the Pakistan Olympic Association (POA), has expressed strong objections. The club claims that the PSB’s decision violates its internal constitution and governance framework, which raises concerns about the exceeding procedures.
On the contrary, the Pakistan Bodybuilding Federation (PBF) has shown another co -operative stand, aligning with the POA’s position on electoral surveillance. The President of Pakistan Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (affiliated with all international organizations, affiliated with the Olympic Council of Asia and POA), Tariq Flight said that under the direction of the International Organization and according to the Constitution, the Federation has held its elections in 2022 in 2026. The provinces participated in the office for the next term and the elections were held under the supervision of POA.
Tariq Pervez said he was not in the picture about these elections. “We have a legal federation because it participates in national and international programs, including the National Games, South Asian Games. No national or international program is allowed to compete with any parallel federation. Promoting parallel institutions will only complicate the sports structure in the country.
He feared that promoting parallel bodies would endanger national sports and even SA sports in the coming days. “When all real bodies look only when it comes to creating bodybuilding activities in Pakistan.”
“I am not sure whether the PSB received the information and recommendations required from the POA, the provincial Olympic Association on the real institutions working in the respective areas. I have spoken to all concerned, including President POA,.” According to the schedule announced by the Election Commission of Pakistan Sports Board (PSB), elections will be held at 10:00 am for the Alpine Club of Pakistan, followed by Pakistan Bodybuilding Federation elections, and Pakistan Tanipon Bowling Federation elections will be held at 2:30 pm.
The Election Commission has directed that all nomination papers, lists and objections of voters be submitted to the PSB headquarters in Islamabad by June 12.
Nominations will also be examined from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on June 12, and a list of temporary voters and candidates will be released at 2:00 pm the same day. The deadline for submitting the objections is fixed on June 13 at 10:00 am, the same day by 12:00 pm, decisions will be announced on these objections. The list of final voters and the list of candidates will be published on June 13 at 3:00 pm. The Election Commission, headed by Wasim Majeed Malik, has made it clear that all proceedings will be broadcast live on the day of the election.
The Alpine Club of Pakistan also expressed its concern in a letter to Director General PSB on June 4 (a copy of which is available with the news). The letter states: “We would like to repeat our previous communications from time to time. We have also been aware of the existing executive board’s justification by the end of December, 2025, when it is questioned by the PSB/IPC when it is questioned and when it is questioned. Speaker, PSB issued the NOC, which shows that they have no objection to the justification of the current executive board.
