Cairo: Iran said on Monday that it would not accept a nuclear deal that deprives it of “peaceful activities”, which is a reference to uranium enrichment, as it has put pressure on the United States to reduce sanctions.
Uranium enrichment has been an important point of conflict between enemies to seal the nuclear deal since April, Iran has defended it, saying it is pursuing a civilian nuclear program but the US team has called it a “red line”.
Addressing in Cairo, where he met with UN nuclear care chief Rafael Grosy, Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi said: “If the purpose is to deprive Iran of its peaceful activities, there will be no agreement.”
Aragchi insisted that Iran has nothing to hide on its nuclear program. “Iran has a peaceful nuclear program … We are ready to provide this assurance to any party or organization,” he said.
These remarks came after the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) ganguy on Monday, demanding more transparency from Iran, which states that Tehran has promoted enrichment of uranium.
The IAEA report states that Iran has increased uranium production, which is enriched by 60 % – nearly 90 90 % of the need for nuclear weapons. “More transparency is needed in Iran.”
Grosy added that some of the report results could be “anxious for some people, and we are … accustomed to being criticized”. Iran has rejected the report, warning that if it threatens European powers to threaten to “exploit” nuclear sanctions, it will be retaliated.
“Some countries are trying to misuse this agency to pave the way for enhancing with Iran. I hope this agency will not be found in the net,” Aragchi said about the IAEA. Meanwhile, Iran called for sanctions on the United States, which has disabled its economy as a condition of a nuclear deal with President Donald Trump’s administration.
Aragchi said Saturday that after five cycles of mediation by Oman, they received the “elements” of the US proposal for the nuclear deal. Both Aragchi and Grosy met Egyptian President Abdul Fateh Al -Sisi, who praised the US -Iran talks and called for a “de -style to stop the slide in a complete regional war”.
On Monday, the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baqi told a news conference: “We want to guarantee that sanctions have been effectively lifted.” “So far, the US party does not want to clarify the issue,” he said.
In a nuclear talks, the US envoy said last month that the Trump administration would oppose any Iranian enrichment. “An enrichment program can never be present in the Iranian state,” Steve Watkov told Brett Bart News. This is our red line. There is no enrichment. “
After a phone call with Vaticov a day before the ongoing nuclear talks, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abedati called on a peaceful resolution and nuclear weapons -free Middle East at a Monday press conference that “the region is already facing many problems and crises”.
He warned that the military confrontation would “create a state of chaos which would not be forgiven”. Iran has pledged to enrich uranium “with an agreement or without an agreement” in its nuclear program.
US media reported on Saturday, the United States has sent a nuclear deal to Iran, which the White House called “acceptable” and to accept Tehran’s “best interest”. The New York Times cited diplomatic exchanges, saying that the proposal calls for Iran to stop all enrichment and suggest regional groups to create nuclear power.
