Iran rejected it as a “non -starter” on Monday, saying it rejects a “non -starter” or fails to soften Washington’s stance on uranium enrichment.
“Iran is drafting a negative reaction to the US proposal, which can be interpreted as a rejecting US offer,” a senior diplomat on Iran’s negotiating team, who is close to the Iranian negotiating team, told Reuters.
General Foreign Minister Syed Badar al -Basidi proposed a US proposal for a new nuclear deal on Saturday, which was on a brief visit to Tehran and is mediating talks between Tehran and Washington.
After five rounds between Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Iraqi and President Donald Trump’s Middle East envoy Steve Watkov, there are several obstacles.
Among them, Iran’s American demand is that it pledges to end uranium enrichment, and refuses to send a potential raw material to its high -end uranium its existing uranium – potential raw materials for nuclear bombs.
Tehran says it wants to specialize in nuclear technology for peaceful purposes and has long denied the allegations by Western powers that it is trying to develop nuclear weapons.
“In this proposal, there is no change in the US stance on enrichment on the Iranian soil, and there is no clear explanation for lifting sanctions,” said the diplomat, who refused to identify the sensitivity of the matter.
Iraqi said that Tehran would soon respond to the proposal.
Tehran has called for the immediate removal of all the crocodiles coming to the United States, which destroys its oil -based economy. But the United States says nuclear sanctions should be lifted in stages.
According to Washington, dozens of companies have been blacklisted for Iran’s economy, including its central bank and the National Oil Company, to “support terrorism or the spread of weapons”.
Since returning to the White House in January, “maximum pressure” against Tehran has tightened sanctions in Trump’s restoration and threatening Iran’s bombing if negotiations have not been reached.
During his first term in 2018, Trump set up Tehran’s 2015 nuclear deal with six powers and re -imposed sanctions, which disabled Iran’s economy. Iran responded by promoting far -reaching enrichment from the boundaries of the agreement.
Under this agreement, Iran withheld its sensitive nuclear activities in exchange for getting rid of US, European Union and UN economic sanctions by 2018.
The diplomat said that under the supervision of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khaamini, a review of Iran’s nuclear talks committee, was that the US proposal was “fully one -sided” and could not fulfill Tehran’s interests.
Therefore, the diplomat said, Tehran considers the proposal a “non -starter” and believes that it unilaterally tries to impose a “bad deal” on Iran through excessive demands.
Nuclear Stand of Middle East increases tension
The stake is high for both sides. Trump wants to reduce Tehran’s ability to develop a nuclear weapon that can mobilize regional nuclear weapons race and perhaps threaten Israel. Iran’s academic establishment wants to get rid of destructive sanctions on its own.
Iran says it is ready to accept some limits related to enrichment, but water tight guarantees are needed that Washington will not come to the future nuclear deal.
Two Iranian officials told Reuters last week that if the United States released frozen Iranian funds and recognized Tehran’s right to improve uranium for urban use under the “political agreement”, Iran could stop enriching uranium, which could lead to a wider nuclear deal.
Iran’s Arc Fu Israel views Iran’s nuclear program as an existent threat and says it will never allow Tehran to obtain nuclear weapons.
At a joint news conference with his Egyptian counterpart in Cairo, Iraqi said: “I do not think Israel will commit such a mistake that will invade Iran.”
In the meantime, Tehran’s regional influence has been reduced to its military shocks by its forces and its allies, including the “axis of resistance” under the Shi’ite influence, which includes Hamas, Hezbollah, Houthis in Yemen, and Iraqi militias.
In April, Saudi Arabia’s Defense Minister conveyed a two -pronged message to Iranian officials to seriously present Trump’s offer of a new deal to avoid the threat of war with Israel.
