WASHINGTON: The White House on Saturday withdrew its nominated candidate for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Administrator, Jareide Isaac Man, suddenly stimulated Elon Musk’s close ally to lead the space agency.
President Donald Trump said he would soon announce a new candidate.
“After a thorough review of the former associations, Trump wrote on his social site, I am withdrawing the nomination of Jord Ishaq Man, headed by NASA.”
“I will soon announce a new nominee candidate who will be associated with the mission, and put the United States into space first.”
A billionaire private astronaut, Isaacman, who was a Musk choice to lead NASA, was due to a very delayed vote before the US Senate next week. Many people in the space industry were surprised by the removal of this.
Trump and the White House did not specify what the reason for the decision.
“It may not always be clear through dialogue and turmoil, but there are many capable, dedicated people who love this country and take care of the mission,” Isacman said in a post on X.
“It was in full exhibition during my hearing, where leaders from both sides of the corridor made it clear that they were ready to fight for the world’s most successful space agency.
“I am grateful to President Trump, the Senate and all the people who supported me.”
Its dismissal came a few days after Musk’s official departure from the White House, where the role as the “Special Government Employer” of SpaceX CEO led to the department’s government performance, which led to a riot for the administration and some of Trump’s assistants.
Simpur had already reported the news.
Musk did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
According to one person, familiar with his reaction, Musk was disappointed with Ishaq Mann.
Musk wrote about Isaac Man on X, “In response to this news, I wrote about Isaac Man on X,” It is rare to find someone so competent and a good heart. “
It was unclear who could tap the administration to replace Isaac Man.
According to three men, who is a retired US Air Force Lieutenant General Steven Coast, who is the preliminary lawyer of the US Space Force and Trump supporter, familiar with the debate.
Former CEO of payment processor Company Shift 4, Isaac Man, had the support of the wider space industry, but they faced concerns by lawmakers about relations with Musk and SpaceX, where it spent hundreds of millions of dollars as a preliminary private space flight customer.
The former nominated candidate donated the Democrats in the previous elections. At a hearing in April, it tried to balance NASA’s current moon -linked space research strategy with a balance, saying that the United States could plan to travel to both places.
As a potential leader of NASA’s about 18,000 employees, Ishaqman faced a difficult task to implement the decision to prefer Mars, because NASA has spent years and billions of dollars trying to return its astronauts to the moon.
On Friday, the space agency released new details of the Trump administration’s 2026 budget plan, which proposes to kill dozens of Space Science programs and leave thousands of employees, which has been revised, calling for space supporters and lawmakers destructive.
Montana Republican Tim Shehi, a member of the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee, wrote on the X that the Isaacman had a strong choice for President Trump to lead NASA, in response to his departure reports.
“I was proud to be proud of his efforts to introduce Jayride at his hearing and his nomination efforts to remove his nomination,” said Shihi.
Some scientists saw the designated change in NASA further destabilizing because it faces a dramatic budget reduction without any certified leader to create a political uproar between the Congress, the White House and the agency’s workforce.
“Therefore, being a NASA boss (Isaac Man) is also bad news,” said Astronomer Jonathan McDell, a Harvard-Smithsonian astronomer.
“Perhaps it is a good thing for the Jerid itself, citing a winning situation in the Science Fiction Franchise Star track, McDewell said,” Being a NASA head is a ‘Kobiashi’ scenario. “
