China, Pakistan Iron Brother praised Islamabad’s “responsible behavior” during a recent stance with India on Thursday.
Addressing a lunch organized by the Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special measures, Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong, Ehsan Iqbal, praised the recent peace and stability in the region and hoped that peace would bring Pakistan’s profit.
Earlier this month, Pakistan’s armed forces launched a massive retaliation, called “Operation Bonyan Um-Marsus”, and targeted several Indian military targets in several regions.
The strikes described by the personnel as “precise and proportional” were carried out in response to India’s continued aggression in the Line of Control (LoC) and Pakistan, which New Delhi claimed that “terror targets” were aimed at.
Pakistan dropped six Indian fighter jets, including three Rafael, and dozens of drones. At least 87 hours later, the war between the two nuclear armed countries ended May 10 with a ceasefire agreement by the United States.
The military confrontation between the two countries began with an attack in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) in which 26 tourists were killed, India accused of attacking without any evidence.
During the lunch meeting this afternoon, the Minister of Plan thanked the Chinese Ambassador and Beijing for extending Pakistan’s irreversible support during the crisis.
The Minister added, “At every critical juncture of our history, China stands as a rock solid partner with Pakistan. Our friendship is not seasonal-it is a relationship that is stuck in confidence, mutual respect and shared dreams for the future.”
The meeting pointed out rapid tracks under the China Pakistan Economic Transit (CPEC) and a joint commitment to future measures.
The Minister of Planning informed the Chinese Ambassador that Gwadar Port is now fully connected to the national power grid, which has concrete progress towards full operationalization.
Iqbal said, “Connecting Gwadar to the national grid is an important place for Pakistan but also for the entire region to create a real gateway to prosperity. CPEC is an engine that will strengthen Pakistan’s economic change and regional integration.”
Chinese Ambassador Jiang echoed the sentiment, saying that Gwadar’s strategic compatibility is gaining global recognition, and has confirmed China’s permanent commitment to support its development.
He also praised the dedication of the Minister of Iqbal for making the CPEC a flag of regional cooperation.
The talks also focused on the preparations for the 14th Joint Cooperation Committee (JCC) meeting, which is scheduled for July 2025.
Minister Iqbal expressed Pakistan’s commitment to ensure a production and results -based meeting.
He emphasized, “The coming JCC is an opportunity to increase our cooperation to the next level. Our goal is to move from planning to performance – to ensure that every project affects the land for our people.”
Ambassador Jiang reiterated China’s full support for Pakistan’s development under “Uran Pakistan” vision.
Minister Iqbal highlighted the ability to connect Gwadar to Central Asia and Afghanistan, which enabled Pakistan to reach regional access to global markets.
Regarding agricultural cooperation, Iqbal said that the first group of agriculture graduates organized by the Chinese is currently undergoing special training in Pakistan.
He said, “These young minds, who have been elected through a competitive process, will become catalyst in modernizing Pakistan’s agricultural economic. With Chinese support, we are sowing the seeds of a secret and prosperous Pakistan.”
He emphasized the urgent need for launching the Karakoram Highway (KHH) Phase II upgrade and Mainline 1 (ML -1) Railway project, and termed them as Pakistan’s economic future strategic arteries.
He also proposed a partnership between the Chinese medical institutions and the Jinnah Medical Complex and Research Center, along with high Chinese universities and Danish University of Pakistan, and proposed educational links.
