TEHRAN: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Monday confirmed Pakistan’s consent to talk with India for regional peace, but made it clear that any process of aggression would face a strong response.
Addressing a joint press conference with Iranian President Dr Masood Pjishkian in Tehran, Premier said, “We want peace … We are ready to engage in dialogue to resolve all disputes, including the Kashmir issue.”
After the end of the visit to Turkey, the premiere arrived in Tehran as part of a visit to his four countries, which aims to express gratitude for supporting Pakistan during the recent dispute against India.
On his arrival, the Prime Minister was welcomed by the Iranian Home Minister and the Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan. An intelligent contingent of the Iranian Armed Forces presented the Guard of Honor at the airport.
The Prime Minister also has a high -level delegation, which includes Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Field Marshal General Asim Munir. Special Assistant to Federal Ministers Mohsin Naqvi, Ataullah Taraar, and Prime Minister Tariq Fatimi are also part of the delegation.
Addressing the joint pressure, the Prime Minister said that Pakistan is a peaceful country that seeks harmony in the region but warned that any aggression will be met with a strong and effective response.
He said his country is willing to discuss key regional issues, including water distribution and counter -terrorism.
Commenting on Pakistan’s national security, Prime Minister Shahbaz praised the armed forces for their bravery and timely response during the recent dispute with India. He noted, “Our Armed Forces showed exemplary courage.
He also thanked the Iranian President Pazeshkian for his support and solidarity with Pakistan. “I admire President Pazeskyan’s sentiments about the people of Pakistan,” he said, adding that the two countries have established relations with mutual respect and regional cooperation.
Highlighting Pakistan’s commitment to peace and development, the Prime Minister also endorsed Islamabad’s support for Iran’s peaceful nuclear program.
Talking about the high -level delegation talks between the two countries, the Prime Minister said that there was a fruitful and useful meeting with the Iranian President covering all areas of mutual interest and cooperation.
He added, “There was a full agreement that the two brotherly countries would have to increase cooperation in diverse sectors, including trade, investment and economy.”
He assured that Pakistan would work with Iran on all issues of mutual concern.
Welcoming the Prime Minister and his delegation, the Iranian President said that Pakistan is an important neighboring country and the two countries enjoyed centuries -old historical, cultural and cultural links.
He said that Pakistan and Iran shared a joint stance on important regional and international issues on various platforms, including the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
The Iranian president said that the two countries should cooperate in protecting their borders from the activities of terrorists and criminal groups.
He added, “Peace and stability in Pakistan is in the interest of Iran. We believe that maintaining security and maintaining friendly and peaceful relations with neighboring countries is in the interest of both countries.”
He said that Iran welcomed the ceasefire between Pakistan and India. It was necessary to resolve matters through dialogue for stability in the region.
“We believe that in order to ensure security and stability in the region, neighboring countries should talk and have positive consultation with each other and international partners.”
The Prime Minister met with Iran’s top leader
In addition, Prime Minister Shahbaz also called on Iran’s top leader Syed Ali Khamenei and discussed bilateral and regional interest issues.
He was accompanied by Field Marshal Asim Munir, Ishaq Dar, Federal Ministers Mohsin Naqvi and Attaullah Tarar.
During the call, the Prime Minister pointed out that he was a celebrity in the Muslim world and that the Muslim Ummah looked at him for guidance and patronage.
Premier told him about the recent conflict of India and the design of India’s controversial and revision and thanked Iran’s leadership for supporting Pakistan against Indian aggression.

He praised the Iranian leadership’s remote in pursuit of nuclear talks with the United States and hoped that there was a constructive agreement between the two countries to promote peace and stability in the region.
The Supreme Leader appreciated the Premier’s efforts to promote regional peace and stability and praised his personal commitment to further strengthen Pakistan relations with Pakistan.
The top leader prayed for the maximum prosperity, growth and development of Pakistan and its people.
He deeply appreciated the dedication of the Supreme Leader with the poetry of the poet, Allama Iqbal, and especially requested the Supreme Leader to visit Pakistan again as soon as possible.
‘Pakistan, Iran I $ 10 BN bilateral trade’
Prior to his visit to Tehran, Prime Minister Shahbaz -Iranian news agency was given an interview that the bilateral trade between Pakistan and Iran, which is $ 3 billion, will be taken to $ 10 billion in the next few years, as it has immense potential for growth.
The Prime Minister noted that bilateral trade between the two countries has increased significantly in the last three to four years.
According to Iranian news, “We want to get it up to $ 10 billion in the next few years, but I think its potential is much larger than that. We are discussing the signing of the Free Trade Agreement (FTA).
The Prime Minister responded to a question that he firmly believed that the economic destiny of the two countries was associated with each other as they shared a border of about 900 km.
He added, “I personally believe that a strong economic relationship between Pakistan’s Balochistan and Iran’s Sistan Balochistan can be good for the entire region. It can also be very effective in dealing with terrorism.”
He added that the two countries have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the development of projects between these provinces. He further emphasized the need for permanent economic engagement between Iran and Pakistan.
According to a question regarding his visit to Iran, the Prime Minister said that he was visiting at the invitation of President Masood Pazishkian.
“The main purpose of my visit is to thank Iran for supporting and standing in our conflict with India. India, as you know, warn us, which we have asked for a decisive but measured and well -known Kalebraped response, according to international humanitarian law, and thanks to this.

In response to another question, he said that he was firmly convinced that there could be no peace and justice in the region till the resolution of Kashmir and Palestine issues, and reiterates that it is important that these issues should be resolved according to the aspirations of Kashmir and Palestinian people.
Regarding Iran’s US dialogue, the Prime Minister said that he believes talks, diplomacy and engagement are the best solution because, in this way, they can avoid conflicts and wars.
He added, “I need to promote peace, development and security in the region. I have a lot of confidence in Iran’s leadership. I hope that these talks will bring positive things out. From Pakistan, I want peace and stability in the region.”
