Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, Director General of Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), has strongly rejected the idea that India can stop Pakistan’s water supply, and is described as “crazy thinking”.
Talking to Al Jazeera, the military spokesman said, “Only one crazy person would think that India can stop the flow of water for Pakistan. It is not possible for 240 million people to cut water.”
On Thursday, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that Pakistan will not get water from rivers which have the rights of India. The statement came a month after a deadly attack in Indian illegally Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), which led to New Delhi suspending an important agreement in the river water between neighbors.
In response to this comment, the DGISPR pointed out that six rivers started in the Kashmir region and that under UN resolutions, Kashmir is a controversial area.
He explained, “If the people of Kashmir decide to join Pakistan, then all the rivers will be related to us, which will make India less repaired state.” “At this time, Pakistan has to decide how to deal with this situation.”
New Delhi unilaterally suspended the Indus Wates Agreement (IWT), which in the World Bank dialogue agreement in 1960, between the April 22 attacks last month, between Pakistan against Pakistan, 26 people, mostly Hindu tourists.
Lieutenant General Chaudhry emphasized the unity and flexibility of the Pakistani people. He said, “If you go to the streets and cities of Pakistan, you will get a response written on the faces of the people,” he said, adding that this dispute is not just a political or army, but a war of truth and principle.
The military spokesman said that Pakistan’s Marca-Haq called the “fair struggle”. Referring to the events after the Pahalgam incident, he said that India had built a fabricated story.
“In response, Pakistan made an easy demand: If you have evidence, bring it forward,” he said. “If there is any evidence to connect a Pakistani citizen or the state with the incident, present it – not only for us, but in front of the international community or neutral and reliable third party, so that transparent investigations can be done.”
He said that India has failed to respond to this demand. He said, “At that time, India had no answer, and it still had no one,” he said, adding that a few days ago, the Indian Foreign Ministry had admitted that the investigation was underway.
Commenting on India’s actions on May 6 and 7, Lieutenant General Chaudhry said, “What they did has no moral justification.” He criticized the situation in India and said that the world saw how the Indian media and the state lied in the informational war.
India launched indiscriminate missile strikes at several places within Pakistani soil on the night of May 6 and 7, saying it was targeted in militant camps associated with the Phalgam attack against the killing of tourists in the IIOJK. Indian attacks killed several Pakistani nationals, including women and children.
In response, the Pakistan Armed Forces launched a massive retaliation, called “Operation Bonyan Um-Marsus”, and targeted several Indian military installations in several regions.
Pakistan Air Force dropped six Indian fighter jets, including three Rafale, and dozens of drones. After at least 87 hours, the agitated war by India ended May 10 with a ceasefire agreement by the United States.
Lieutenant General Sharif said that India has far more developed theater and film industry than Pakistan, and it has allowed it to constantly create new stories in connection with false accusations against Islamabad associated with the Pahalgam attack.
The DGISPR said that Pakistan has not yet used the full force of its traditional forces, adding that a large part of the country’s army is focused on combating India -backed terrorism, especially in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
‘India’s greatest sponsor of terrorism’
“The world knows that India is the biggest sponsors of terrorism in the region,” said LT General Chaudhry. He emphasized that Pakistan has not withdrawn any army from these operations and has not yet revealed its full technical capabilities.
He warned of the dangers of conflicts between two nuclear armed countries. “World powers believe that the concept of war between the two nuclear states is dangerous and ridiculous,” he said. “India has been in war for years, which is like playing with fire.”
He criticized India for creating a situation that could lead to mutual destruction. On the contrary, he said, Pakistan has taken the situation wisely and refrained from increasing. He made it clear, “The ceasefire means that the two sides have stopped firing, but peace will only come when India will abandon its war -run political mindset.”
Lieutenant General Chaudhry also raised concerns about human rights abuses in India. “Indian elites believe in oppressing Muslims and minorities, which is a serious problem,” he said. He added that not only Muslims but Christians, Sikhs and lower caste parties also face persecution in India.
He noted, “This atrocity naturally stimulates a reaction, but instead of resolving the reasons for the root, India refused to deal with these issues and blamed Pakistan.”
He said such reactions are an inevitable consequence of extremism and Hindutva ideology. “India tries to turn Pakistan into an external issue by accusing Pakistan of blame,” he said. “But unless India solves these internal problems, peace will not be possible.”
He questioned the logic for targeting a sacred site like the Golden Temple, and called the allegation a “biggest lie”. Lieutenant General Chaudhry confirmed his commitment to protect Sikh religious places of Pakistan such as Nanakana Sahib, Panja Sahib, and Kartarpur Sahib.
“Attacking religious or civilian places is against our culture, our values and our religion,” he said, reiterating that Pakistan’s position is the root of its moral and moral principles.
“We love our Sikh brothers, and there are deep bonds between Muslims and Sikhs in Pakistan,” he added.
“Pakistan will respond strongly to any aggression.”
The military spokesman said that Pakistan has fought its war independently and it is expected that India will do the same. “If India has any self -esteem, it should also fight its battles.”
He urged the Indian people to learn the value of self -reliance and stop in terms of falsehood and aggression. He added, “Indians should stop relying on lies and aggression.
Referring to the recent increase, Lieutenant General Chaudhry said that India committed open aggression while Pakistan is standing firmly, and today it is established.
He warned that any repeat of such aggression by India would get even stronger response. He concluded, “If India tries it again, our reaction will be faster and faster than ever.”
