Istanbul: US President Donald Trump said Saturday that he would talk to Russia and Ukraine presidents on Monday after talks between the two sides, to which a Ukrainian official said Moscow negotiators had already agreed to new demands before the ceasefire.
In Moscow, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told Russian news agencies that preparations for dialogue between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Trump are underway.
The talks in Turkey on Friday were the first time that weeks after Russia’s full -scale attack on its small neighbor, the parties had spoken face to face after March 2022.
A senior Ukrainian official, who was aware of the talks, said Russian negotiators demanded Ukraine to withdraw its troops from all Ukrainian territories claiming through Moscow.
Trump wrote the truth on social social, he would talk to Putin so that he would discuss the stop of the war on the East (1400 GMT) at 10am on Monday.
He wrote, ‘There will be call articles, which will be stopping the “Blood Weapon”, which on average, killing more than 5,000 Russian and Ukrainian soldiers, will be traded.’
He said that he would then talk to Ukrainian President Woldmeer Zillinsky and various NATO members.
“Hopefully this will be a fruitful day, a ceasefire, and this very violent war, a war that should never have been, will end.”
Trump had offered to travel to Turkey last week in the Gulf if Putin would also be involved, but Putin sent a team of negotiators instead.
President Putin and Zelannsky have been pressuring to agree with a ceasefire in more than three years.
The Kremlin refused to comment on the conditions that Russia had presented at the Friday meeting. The talks lasted for only an hour for 40 minutes and signed a contract to trade 1,000 prisoners in the war. The two countries have not explained when this will happen.
Zillski called for strict sanctions on Moscow on Saturday when a Russian drone killed nine bus passengers in the Sami region of northeastern Ukraine. “It was a deliberate murder of civilians,” he said.
Russia should be pressured to stop the casualties. Without strict sanctions, without severe pressure, Russia will not seek real diplomacy. ‘
Russia, which refuses to target civilians, said it affected a military target in Sami. Russian troops have seized another settlement in eastern Ukraine, the Defense Ministry said.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov spoke with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio via telephone, saying he welcomed the US ‘positive role’ to help secure the resumption of dialogue between Russia and Ukraine. The Russian Foreign Ministry statement quoted Lavrov as saying that contacts would continue.
Rubio was told to the CBS News Program, saying that Lavrov said the Russians were working on a series of ‘ideas and requirements they would have to move forward with ceasefire and further negotiations.’
‘I think your question is, “Are they tapping us?’ “Well, we are trying to find out.”
Rubio, who had previously told reporters in Rome that the Vatican Russia -Ukrainian dialogue could be a place for further convenience, told the CBS that it was a very generous offer that could be picked up.
Pressed for a quick ceasefire
Ukraine and Western governments, including the United States, have called on Russia to agree with the immediate, unconditional ceasefire that lasted for at least 30 days.
But Ukrainian sources said Moscow negotiators had demanded the withdrawal of Ukraine troops from Ukraine’s Donetsk, Zapirzia, Khersan and Lohnsk areas, and only after that a ceasefire was encountered.
Sources said that other demands are beyond the terms of a draft peace agreement that the United States proposed last month after consultation with Moscow.
Peskov refused to comment on the Ukrainian account, saying the talks were ‘completely behind the closed doors’.
He said the next steps would be to carry out the prisoner exchange and to do more work between the two sides. Peskov said it was possible that Putin could meet Zilnsky, but only if there were ‘some agreements’, which they did not explain.
Zlinski challenged Putin earlier this week to get him personally, the Russian leader’s offer was ignored.
Turkish President Taype Erdogan said his country, after hosting talks, has been vowed to continue his role in mediation.
Ukraine support rallies
After Friday’s meeting, Ukraine began to seek support from its allies to take stern action against Moscow.
“Russia is not serious once again,” British Secretary of State David Lumi told Reuters during a visit to Pakistan. ‘Where do we call Putin enough?’
French President Emmanuel Macron also said that the talks in Istanbul were fruitless.
‘Today, what do we have? Nothing And so I tell you, President Putin faced the misery, I am sure that President Trump, who keeps in mind the credibility of the United States, will react. ‘
The European Union is working on a new package of sanctions against Moscow, which France said, the Russian economy should ‘end’ this week, said European Union President Ursola Van Dare Leene.
But after speeding up sanctions for more than three years, it is unclear how much they can get.
In an attempt to counter the United Front and accept the ceasefire to Putin, Ukraine and its European leaders have repeatedly eliminated the balance by Trump’s intervention.
Zelannski calls to accept Russia’s direct talks in Turkey, Trump said at the meeting that there could be no movement on peace until he met Putin.
Kremlin says Putin is ready to meet Trump, but such summit should be prepared carefully. It states that there has been no contact between Russia and the United States since Friday’s talks.
