Abu Dhabi: US President Donald Trump has finalized more than $ 200 billion agreements with the United Arab Emirates, covering aviation, trade, technology and artificial intelligence during a visit to the Gulf state.
Following the meeting of Trump with United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al -Nahyan, the White House said he announced a $ 14.5 billion pledge to invest in 28 Boeing 787 and 777 X aircraft manufactured by GE Aerospace.
The US Department of Commerce said that the two countries will also set up an American -AI ACTION Partnership Framework. Trump and Sheikh Mohammed attended a new 5GW AI campus, which would be the largest outside the United States.
Sources have said that these agreements will expand the United States to modern artificial intelligence chips after facing sanctions due to Washington’s concerns to the Gulf country.
After welcoming $ 10 billion in Qatar’s investment in a US military facility during a stop in Doha, Trump began a visit to the United Arab Emirates as part of a visit to the Gulf states.
In a meeting with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Trump said, “I have no doubt that this relationship will be better.”
“Your amazing brother came to Washington a few weeks ago and told us about your generous statement about 1.4 trillion,” Trump said, referring to the United Arab Emirates commitment to invest $ 1.4 trillion in the United States in 10 years.
Trump was referring to Sheikh Tahnun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, brother of Sheikh Mohammed and the United Arab Emirates National Security Advisor, who also heads two funds for Abu Dhabi’s sovereignty.
The US President met at the Abu Dhabi airport by Sheikh Mohammed, and both visited the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, which had a light at the end of the afternoon with his white tower and dome.
“It’s very beautiful,” Trump told reporters inside the mosque, which he said was closed for that day.
