Director General Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmad Sharif Chaudhry said on Wednesday that last night, the Indian attacks on various cities of Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) increased the casualties and increased the death toll.
India launched strikes on Pakistan and AJK early Wednesday morning, an attack that Islamabad last month called on Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) after a deadly attack on tourists who occupied Indian illegally occupied.
Islamabad said that six Pakistani places were targeted from mosques to hydropower projects, which had two dozen weapons effects.
In retaliation and proper response, the Pakistan Armed Forces shot five Indian Air Force (IAF) jets, destroying seven drones, Line of Control (LOC) as well as a brigade headquarters and several check posts.
Addressing a press conference today, the DGISPR added that one of the major reasons for the increase in casualties was firing on the LoC of India.
He said that the strikes last night exposed the malicious face of India, adding: “Our enemy is so cowardly that instead of confronting our military forces, he attacked unarmed civilians and inhabited areas in the dark.”
He added that such actions attract direct aggression to India’s frustration and support of proxy elements.
“When we made life difficult for terrorist proxies, India resorted to using its army to carry out terrorist acts,” he said. “Targeting innocent civilians and children – if it’s not terrorism then what is it?”
The DGISPR questioned which terrorists were killed by targeting civilians and population centers.
Showing videos of civilians, including children affected by Indian attacks, a military spokesman questioned whether they were “terrorists” who claim that India had targeted the night of May 6 and 7.
The military spokesman added that the Neelam Jail Hydropower Project was also fired by Indian forces.
Referring to Article 54 of the 1977 additional protocol 1 of the Geneva Conventions, the army spokesman said that the civilian population was essential to survival, such as attacking, destroying or presenting water supply/installations and irrigation works.
Lieutenant General Chaudhry said that Pakistan’s armed forces only engaged in military targets and responded to the health of Indian aggression.
General Chaudhry said, “In our defense, our forces only targeted military targets. We did not resort to targeting innocent civilians like cowardly enemies.”
He confirmed that the Pakistan Air Force shot five Indian fighter jets, including three Rafael, in which they declared an extraordinary aerial war. “Such aerial warfare is rarely observed – we are proud of our airspace.”
He added that India’s violations with violations of the LoC and Seas fire have exposed its aggressive and unstable role in front of the world.
“From launching indiscriminate attacks on our borders to supporting terrorism through proxies, India has repeatedly shown its malicious intentions,” he added.
During a press briefing, the DGISPR confirmed that the protection of the people and the area of Pakistan is non -negotiated, saying that there will be no compromise on the protection of “our citizens or the sovereignty of our land”.
He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to defend himself against any aggression. The military spokesman confirmed, “Pakistan reserves its right to defend itself and will use it when necessary.”
He praised the unity between the nation and its armed forces, saying, “Our forces are proud of the people, and people have an unprecedented trust in their army. We are one against the enemy.”
