Peshawar Zalmi presented clinical all -round performances to defeat the Multan Sultans in a mandatory clash of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10, and kept his playoffs by seven wickets.
Chasing the target of minor 109 runs, Zalmi scored just three wickets and 42 balls to register their fourth victory, which helped them close the Lahore Qalandars.
However, the 2017 Champions started a contradictory pursuit as Mitchell Owen (a) fell victim to David Wali in the first over with only eight runs on the board.
Ayub then collected a 49-run partnership with captain Babar Azam for the second wicket, which scored 13-ball eight before being cleared by pacer Shahid Aziz in the seventh over.
Aziz attacked his next over again to dismiss the set batter Ayub, who remained the top scorer of Zalmay with 33 ball 49, with four fours and three sixes.
On the other hand, the Brightly batted by the end and pushed Zalmi with an unbeaten victory over 20 delivery, with five fours and a six.
He also shared a 40 -run partnership with Mohammed Herses, who scored seven of the 10 delivery.
Shahid Aziz led the Sultan’s bowling charge with two wickets for just 17 runs in his three overs, while Wali took advantage of one.
Earlier, Peshawar Zalmi kept his playoffs live with a commanding bowling display, in which Multan Sultans were tied to just 108 runs.
After the Sultan’s captain Mohammad Rizwan’s first batting decision, his team was dismissed for just 108 runs in 19.1 overs.
On the side of the house with both openers – Yasir Khan (10) and Captain Rizwan (17), a shaking began – the score falling inside the powerplay was left at 34/2.
After the initial shock, Taib Tahir scored only 22 runs in the ninth over, including two fours and a six, before falling to Ahmed Daniel, but he arranged only 22 years, including two fours and a six.
His dismissal gave birth to disaster, as the Sultans lost three fast wickets and slipped up to 66/6 in 12.1 overs.
Meanwhile, Shay Hoop tried to anchor the innings during the end and sewed a careful partnership of 20 runs with David Wali. He finally scored the top with 23 off 22 balls (2 fours, 1 six) before Alzari Joseph was caught and bowled in the 15th over.
The struggle of the Sultans continued when David Wali was dismissed by Ahmed Daniel in the 17th over after a slow knock of 8 to 8 balls, which included a boundary.
Mohammad Hussein offered short resistance with 10 off 10 balls at the end, but was the last man who fell on the first delivery of the final over.
Ahmed Daniel Zalmi had a choice of bowlers, ending with 3/17 figures in four overs. Mazar -e -Sadiq and Luke Wood claimed two wickets, while Ali Raza, Sam Ayub, and Alzari Joseph took to some extent.
