London: UK retailers face severe problems after CyberTex targets the country’s biggest names, Marcus and Spencer cannot still choose to co -select an online order and confirm a major violation of data.
The M&S entered the second week, unable to take an online order after a major cybertack on Friday, as the food retailer co -operative group said the hackers had stolen customer data.
The M&S stock market value has been wiped out since the hack was revealed last week. Co -operators and London Department store Herodes have also suffered incidents in recent days by the Government’s National Cyber Security Center (NCSC).
In recent years, British companies, public institutions and institutions have faced a wave of cybertics, disrupting millions of pounds and often months.
One of the most famous names of the British business, 141 -year -old M&S, on April 25, stopped taking clothing and home order through his website and app on April 25, following difficulties in contractless salaries and clicking and collecting services at the weekend of Easter Bank Holiday.
You first revealed a cybertack on Wednesday, but said on Friday that information about a significant number of current and past members-including personal data, such as names, contact details and birth dates were also taken.
Former NCSC CEO, Searn Martin, told Reuters that there was no sign of an attack on M&S so far, co -operates and Herodes were attached, the latter two were probably discovered due to high vigilance after the M&S incident.
“If this can happen with M&S, it can happen to anyone,” he said, after such a serious attack, the long -term rehabilitation was not unusual.
On Friday, M&S CEO Stuart Machin again apologized to the buyers, without saying that the online order would resume.
“We are working day and night to manage the current cyber event and come back to normal as soon as possible,” he said in an email sent to M&S users.
With M&S, which operates a thousand stores all over the UK, which produces about one -third of its clothing and home sales, analysts say the target of short -term profits is inevitable.
M&S has refused to correct the amount of financial effects, which increases daily as it loses the sale of the new season, while the UK record is temperatures in the record.
Last year, passengers were shut down for almost three months after cybratric on London Transport Operator TFL, while another attack on London Blood Test Processing Company last year disrupted services for more than three months.
The availability of some food products has also been affected in some M&S stores, while wider barriers can affect the business, which has drawn a job posting from its website.
Shares in M&S closed 1 %, increased the losses to about 9 % since Easter.
‘Rapidly sophisticated’ attacks
Helen Dickinson, CEO of trade body British retail consortium, said that cyberrtex is becoming “rapidly sophisticated”, forcing retailers to spend hundreds of millions of pounds every year on defense.
“All retailers are constantly reviewing their system to ensure that they are more and more secure,” he said.
The technology expert, citing several sources, cited a number of sources, saying that a hacking collective known as a “scattered spider”, a Ranksmare attack that enchanted M&S servers, has been carried out.
The NCSC is working with the affected retailers, while the Metropolitan Police is investigating the Cyber Crime Unit and the National Crime Agency (NCA) M&S attack.
“These events should work as a weekend call for all organizations,” said Richard Horn, head of the NCSC.
Matt Western, a member of the Joint Committee on Parliament’s National Security Strategy, said Matt Western, a member of the Labor, said that the government should do more to stop major cybertics.
“Since the government ends its consultation on the proposal to counter the Ranksware, I hope its response to the dangers that they clearly deserve.”
