LAHORE: Hassan Ali, who has recently recorded his name in HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) as a leading wicket -taker, is currently offering a bowling attack for Karachi kings in HBLPSLX.
The Karachi Kings identified the third PSL team for the 31 -year -old Hassan, who started his PSL journey with Peshawar Zalmi as an emerging category at the age of 22 in February 2016.
Prior to the ongoing PSL season, Hassan returned a tremendous return to the Sialkot Region at the National T20 Cup 2025 after a nine -month break of the elbow injury.
He won the best bowler award in the tournament and showed his potential immediately, which took 13 wickets in just four matches. Its current PSL carrier stands for a significant 121 wickets in 88 matches, with an average of 22.09.
He surpassed the previous record holder, Wahab Riaz, who also played 88 matches for Peshawar Zalmi up to HBLPSL 8, when he dismissed Hassan Nawaz against Quetta Gladiators at the National Bank Stadium on April 18.
Hassan, which has also called his name with 332.1, also shared his thoughts with PCB Digital on his outstanding performance in the current season. He expressed, “I am satisfied with my performance because I am leading the bowling chart after six games in Karachi Kings. It looks great when you take regular wickets for your team.”
When HBLPSLX was questioned about his bowling rhythm, where his 13 wickets came to an impressive average of 14.85, Hassan revealed, “I have not made any major changes in my bowling, instead, I have amended the basics and focused on my fitness and diet.
Under the captaincy of Australian David Warner, Karachi Kings have currently achieved a balanced record of three wins and three losses.
Hassan is also fulfilling the vice -captain’s role, an experience he is enjoying. “I am enjoying the responsibility of being the vice captain of one of the biggest HBL PSL franchises,” he said. Such responsibilities create a lot of confidence, which undoubtedly reflects it in my own performances. “
He further praised his captain, “The best thing about Warner is that his team has the first mindset and has had extensive experience all over the world. He has served Australia for a long time, and young players in our squad have been learning a lot from it.
I want to thank them for joining us in their first HBL PSL season and praise them for bringing league management and PCB to Pakistan.
Considering his recently tight five -run defeat against the Quetta Gladiators, Hassan admitted, “We probably took the game a bit lightly, especially when we were apparently on the way to win. Cricket is an unexpected game, and its pace can be dramatic in a short format in a short form.”
Despite the shock, Hassan is hopeful about the possibility of Karachi. “Anyway, we are still in a good position on the table, and in the remaining four matches, our goal is to save space in the top two.”
Looking forward, Hassan is especially anxious to return against Karachi’s rival, Lahore Qalandars. Responding to a question about the expectations of the match on May 4, he said, “As players, we always develop to play in front of a big crowd, and we are desperately expecting our match against Lahore Qalandars.
