ISLAMABAD: India’s allegations claimed that the illegal occupation of Pakistan was responsible for the Pulgam incident in Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), which was unanimously rejected by the Pakistani Senate, which declared these claims politically and unnecessary.
Clearly, condemning all types of terrorism, the resolution presented during the Senate meeting emphasized that targeting innocent civilians is not in line with Pakistan’s basic values.
It also condemned the unilateral suspension of India’s Architeized propaganda campaign and the Indus Waters Agreement, which violates it, which can be interpreted by the war process.
The resolution warns that Pakistan is able to defend its sovereignty and regional integrity against any aggression.
It confirmed the country’s irrational support for the right of the Kashmiri people’s self -determination and demanded accountability from India for terrorism and targets abroad, including the Pakistani soil.
The resolution was in response to India’s unilateral and irrational measures against Pakistan after the deadly firing in the occupied valley.
New Delhi suspended the agreement with water partnership, crossing the central land border with Pakistan, reducing diplomatic relations, and withdrawing visas for Pakistanis.
Pakistan, in response to this, ordered the deportation of Indian diplomats and military advisers, except the Sikh pilgrims, canceled visas for Indian nationals – and stopped crossing the main border.
The UN (UN) has called on Pakistan and India to show “maximum patience”, saying that any problem between Pakistan and India should be resolved peacefully through meaningful mutual engagement.
United message
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar told the House that India had refrained from naming Pakistan directly but indicated without any evidence. He said that India’s baseless story was expected.
Dar informed the House about the decisions of the National Security Committee meeting, announcing that all Indian citizens in Pakistan on SAARC visa should go within 48 hours and noted that Pakistan was politically united in its response.
He revealed that 26 countries were briefed yesterday and today other people will be briefed. He also said that the Saudi Foreign Minister has requested a scheduled conversation for 7 pm.
Dar reiterated that Pakistan’s armed forces are fully prepared and have warned that any complimentary act will be fulfilled by a decisive reaction, which will echo past retaliation. He made it clear that the Indus Waters Agreement could not be suspended unilaterally, as consensus was needed under the agreement.
He said that water is the life of 240 million Pakistanis, and the National Security Committee has already termed the risk of refusal of water as the equivalent of war.
The resolution sends a unanimous message to the opposition, said Shobeli Faraz, the opposition leader in the Senate. He criticized India’s continued efforts to discredit Pakistan and emphasized that such efforts failed. He called for India to be held accountable internationally to promote terrorism, including Pakistan.
Faraz asked how such a big event can occur under the watch of more than 750,000 Indian troops in Kashmir and highlighting India’s record of opposing Pakistan in every international forum.
During the Senate meeting, the President of the Awami National Party (ANP), Emal Wali, said that no one benefits from the war. The two countries have enough power to completely destroy each other, he said.
He called on people in India who desire peace, follow the principles of non -violence, and oppose extremism to raise their voice against war. He emphasized the importance of highlighting the message of peace for the sake of the country and the nation.
Wali offered his services for any dialogue process and said that if consent was given, he would travel to Pakistan. He vowed to engage in meaningful discussions, which aims to promote the atmosphere of brotherhood.
He reiterated his desire for friendly relations with India, China, Afghanistan and Iran. They maintain that even if other people try to disrupt this environment, Pakistan should refrain from doing so, because it will eventually harm the nation.
He emphasized that the message of peace should be considered the welfare of the country.
Wali questioned the closure of the border of the Wagah, while the Kartarpur corridor remains open. He asked if Ajmer Sharif’s visits were allowed, and if not, why is Kartarpur being treated differently.
He added that if closure is necessary, then all routes should be closed equally.
Stressed on the full border closure
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Senator Sherry Rehman said that water is being terrorized by the Modi government, which was a wish during Modi’s first term.
He pointed out that India had declared the Indus Waters Agreement ineffective last year. He said that Modi had long tried to paralyze the deal.
Rehman warned that if India chooses to continue this route, it should be remembered that its rivers start from other countries. He remarked that no one would stand if Modi intends to take the region into the world wars.
He added that Pakistan had tried to include India in terrorism talks, but India did not react. At the end of his remarks, he said that if India wants to examine the commitment of the people of Pakistan and the armed forces, they will find them stronger as the “steel wall”.
