Peshawar Zalmi defeated a humiliating seven wickets at Lahore Qalandars in the 14th match of Pakistan Super League Season 10 at Gaddafi Stadium on Thursday.
Alzari Joseph’s bowling achievements, which supports half of the centuries of Babar Azam and Hussein Talat, led Zalmi to a comfortable victory over the Qalandars.
Chasing the target of minor 130 runs, the visitors left the winning runs for just three wickets and 20 balls.
However, Zalmai made a contradictory start with his pursuit as he lost his batsman Simm Ayub (two) and Tom Kohler Cadmor (Zero) within two overs with just seven runs on the board.
After leaving behind, wicketkeeper batsman Mohammad Herses joined Babar in the middle and started a brief response.
The couple added a sharp 33 runs in 21 delivery until Haram was made out of the fifth over by the slow delivery of Shaheen Shah Afridi.
Harris broke two fours and two sixes during his 16 balls.
After that, Babar and Hussein Talat made a match -winning partnership for the fourth wicket and played Zalmi on the line in the 17th over.
Babar scored the most unbeaten 56 off 42 delivery for Zalmai, which was tied up with seven fours and a six, while the Talat did not disperse 51 with 37 balls, including six boundaries, including six.
Shaheen was a standout bowler for Qalandars, taking two wickets for 22 runs in his four overs, while Harris Rauf once attacked.
Zalmi’s Captain Babar Azam made the first profit decision to take on the field as his team’s bowling unit ended Qalandars’ strong batting lineup, which could give 128 runs before bundling in 19.2 overs.
In the second over, Qalandars’ problems began when his veteran opener Fakir Zaman was cleared by Alzari Joseph while playing a rash shot. He could score 10 in eight delivery.
The hosts then suffered a twin blow in the next over when Lokwood temporarily got rid of opener Asif Ali (five) and Daryl Mitchell (two).
After that, the two -time Champions lost two wickets in the other overs, and as a result, the batting power played at 35/5 at the end of the play.
With half of the hut, Captain Shaheen Shah Afridi promoted himself to bat in seventh but he survived 10 delivery and went back in eight overs after scoring 16.
Following this reduction, veteran all -rounder Alexander Raza and Rashad Hussain tried to force them to return and batted cautiously for a 23 -run partnership for the seventh wicket, which ended in the 11th over when the latter was trapped behind Joseph.
Hussein scored a run-one ball with the help of one four and one six.
Raza then made a 36 -run partnership with Horse Rauf for the eighth wicket, which scored 10 runs in the 16th over before Arif Yaqub was cleared.
The all -rounder was finally dismissed by Hussein Talat in the final over. He was the top scorer for Qalandars with 36 ball 52, which included five fours and three sixes.
Alzari was a standout bowler for Joseph Zalmi, he took three wickets for just 16 runs in his four overs. He was supported by Luke Wood and Hussein Talat, who took two of the two, while Arif Yaqub and Ali Raza helped him with a strike.
Despite the victory, Peshawar Zalmi was ranked fourth with four points in five matches in the PSL 10 standing, just below the Lahore Qalandars, which is proud of the same track record but a high pure run rate.
