KARACHI: Pakistan’s running community staged a strong demonstration in the 129th Boston marathon on Monday, Amin Macawati and Sara Lodhi emerged as the fastest male and women from Pakistan in the races.
The 23 -year -old Karachi -based runner, Mukti, who qualified for the Boston Marathon, impressed Boston’s challenging course at 2:48:47, which is known for the mountainous class. “Heart Break Hill couldn’t break my heart,” Mukti posted on his Instagram account.
He added, “Boston marathon experienced my boundaries but I faced the challenge. I am proud to represent Pakistan globally.”
Amin was another Karachi, Abdul Rahman, who crossed the final line in 2:51:13. “It was challenging with many hills but I enjoyed it,” Rehman told Geo News. “I think this was my best run, better than how I went to Berlin.”
After the Karachi -based pair, Nizar Nayani, Amir Malik and Sadiq Shah – who run their second Boston marathon.
The women’s contingent was led by 39 -year -old Sara Lodhi, who ended in 3:24:46, in which her ninth career marathon and the fifth World Marathon Major were marked. The mother of the three based in the United Arab Emirates gave an emotional calculation of her journey. “As a mother of three girls, it is really important for me to make this model that women can get everything in their minds in their minds,” said Lodhi. “They see discipline – wake up at 3am for training before being prepared for school.”
Lodhi added that it is the first generation of Pakistani women running marathon and are thankful to be part of the movement, “qualifying here and performing well has been a complicated journey, Praise be to Allaah.”
Meanwhile, six Pakistani runners reached the post of marathon as six -star winners. Those who received the medal of six star finishes in Boston include Danish Elahi, Adnan Gandhi, Heera Diwan, Josra Bokhari, Jamal Khan, and Nizar Nayani.
The Divine, who won his sixth star in Boston, reflected the broader meaning of his success. Divine said, “This means the world for me, it is not just a feat for me, but it is a tribute to my family, especially my parents, wives and children in this journey.”
“On the global platform for Pakistan to represent it and to influence the younger generation for our local running community.”
USA -based Dr. Salman Khan (3:24:45), who is already a six -star finalist, completed the Boston marathon for the 5th time.
Dr. Salman said, “Seeing all Pakistani runners in the Boston marathon, a dream was fulfilled for me. Every year, representing his country at international locations every year. This is amazing.”
The Pakistani contingent showed a notable depth with thirteen runners to achieve a sub -fourth hour:

The other finals included Heera Diwan, Adnan Gandhi, Qamar Zia, Josra Bokhari, and Dr. Ravia Bokhari.
The Boston Marathon, which is running for the first time in 1897, is one of the world’s most famous marathons, which includes around 30,000 participants from around the world in this year’s event. The strong exhibition of Pakistan reflects the country’s growing presence in the international marathon.
