Score: Lawyers’ sit -in leaders in Babaloi Bypass, Khairpur, has threatened to formally paralyze the Sindh Punjab train service from Monday (today) on Sunday (today).
JSQM workers allegedly stopped the railway track in Khairpur, Gambut and other cities of the province to stop Karachi Lahore rail services. However, due to the high heat, passengers suffered a lot of difficulties. Similarly, all the markets were closed that day.
Lawyers alleged that their sit -in was fired by unknown double cabin vehicles, injuring two participants of the sit -in.
Addressing the sit -in participants, lawyer leaders said that 72 hours had passed since the sit -in began, but the federal government did not bother to make any announcement to withdraw the canals.
With the help of various nationalist parties, lawyers ‘protests have completely stopped the key route of Sindh Punjab, which has stopped international traffic to attract authorities’ attention to the growing unrest on water resources disputes.
Students, civil society members, political activists and people from all walks of life have chanted slogans against canal plans and corporate farming, claiming that they are in danger of Sindh’s water rights and environmental stability.
Aamir Nawaz Warich, President District Bar Association Karachi, Sarfraz Metlo, President Sindh High Court Bar Association and other lawyer leaders said that the corporate farmers and canals project will ruin the lives of Sindh farmers, and it has been said that the people of the province will become part of the province. He said that the sit -in would not end unless the federal government issued a notification to cancel the canals.
Representatives of civil society, medical stores associations, doctors, businessmen and other stakeholders provided food, water bottles, fruits, medicines and other items to the sit -in participants.
In a solidarity show, the caravan of PTI leaders and workers, headed by PTI Sindh President Helim Adil Sheikh, traveled from Karachi to Karachi to participate in the protest. PTI Caravan, which left Karachi early in the morning, included PTI Sindh General Secretary Dr Masrwar Sial, MPA Chaudhry Owais, Sajid Hussain, and various other leaders of the party.
Addressing the sit -in, Halim Adil Sheikh accused the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) of compromising the rights of Sindh in exchange for political power and this part of its water from the Indus River.
Sheikh said, “The lawyers’ community deserves praise to stand for the future of Sindh. The people of Sindh are united. We will not allow any drop of Sindh water to be diverted in these canals.”
He alleged that Asif Ali Zardari, as president of the country, has enrolled in secret agreements that have been compromised by Sindh’s water resources as president of the country and a federal setup. The Sheikh demanded, “On the one hand, Zardari signs agreements with the federal government, and on the other hand he plans to make fake protests to deceive the people. If he really cares about Sindh, he should resign from the presidency and ask for ways to participate with the federation.”
The president of PTI Sindh reaffirmed the party’s long -standing support for the Indus Movement movement. Sheikh said, “(PTI) chairman Imran Khan has sent a message from jail: We will not allow any injustice against the people of Sindh, and we will fight any attempt to rob Sindh with its water.”
In addition, while talking to a gathering in Dharan, Central President Awami Kabheri’s lawyer Via and Tari said that the party had stood strongly at Babalo’s sit -in for three days with the protestors. He said, “We are unable to stop our struggle. We demand that the rulers immediately cancel all the plans of all Sindh.”
