Miami: The son of a local deputy sheriff, who used his old service weapons, allegedly opened fire that killed two people at a Florida university, police said in the southeastern US state Thursday.
Five people were hospitalized when a gunman – identified as Phoenix Ecner – Florida State University, shot dead students and injured students before being injured by local law enforcement agencies.
The campus was closed with the shooting, the first respondents ordered the shelter to shelter after the firing at lunch.
Leon County’s Sheriff Walt McNele told journalists 20 -year -old that he was a university student and was the son of an 18 -year -old “extraordinary” member of his staff.
“Unfortunately, his son had access to one of his weapons, and it was a weapon found at the scene.”
He added that the suspect was part of Sheriff’s office training programs, which means “it is not surprising to us that he has access to weapons.”
The acne was taken to the hospital after shooting. His condition was not immediately known.
Bahaces -standard footage broadcast by CNN shows that a young man was shown walking on the lawn and firing on those who were trying to escape.
Students talked about chaos when people fled on a vast campus when bullets were opening near the Student Union.
“Everyone just started fleeing the student union,” a witness, a witness, told a local news station WCTV.
“After a minute, we heard about eight to ten firing.”
Eyewitnesses said he saw a man who was shown that he was shot in the mid -section.
“The whole thing was just realistic. I couldn’t just believe that I was watching.
“Everything was really calm, then all chaos.”

Police said the two men who died were not students, but they refused to give further details.
The university, which is a government institution, which has more than 40,000 students, canceled all classes and told students who did not live on campus.

“This is a tragic day for Florida State University,” he said.
“We have completely lost hearts with the violence on our campus today.”
Student Sam Swartz told the Tallalahi Democrat that when the firing started, he was in the basement of the Student Union.
“Everyone started to get out,” said Swartz.
A group of eight people entered the hallway and stopped themselves from trash and plywood.
“I remember you are learning to learn to do the best thing to get them,” said Swartz, adding that large -scale shooters are “trying to get more and more people” as much as they can.
Footage on social media depicts a series of young adults as they were passing through hands in the air, evacuating the building.
Massive firing work is common in the United States, where the constitutional right to lift weapons demands the requirements of strict laws.
This is despite widespread public support for strict control over firearms, which includes banning the sale of high -capacity clips and limiting the availability of automatic weapons of war.
President Donald Trump described the shooting as “shame, a terrible thing”, but insisted that Americans should maintain their guns unrelated.
“I am a great lawyer for the second amendment. I have been from the beginning. I protected it,” he cited this part of the US Constitution Gun supporters, saying that firearms protect the property of weapons.
“These things are terrible, but the gun doesn’t shoot – people do.”
