Pakistan Tehreek -e -Insaf (PTI) chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan said on Tuesday that Imran Khan, the founder of the party, in jail, did not allow any party leader to hold talks with the establishment.
His statement came a few days after PTI leader Azam Swati’s claim that he had received this approval from Khan to contact the establishment to resolve matters to bring political stability in the country.
Last week, Swati, speaking to a private news channel, claimed that he would meet ‘someone’ after which he would be able to say what would be the future process.
He also pointed to the involvement of former President Dr alias Alvi and some others in the negotiation process, adding that he would “meet someone next Wednesday” and want Alvi and some other friends to join it.
Talking to reporters outside Rawalpindi’s Adiala jail after meeting Khan, Gohar said that the founder of the party has given him “six statements” today.
“The founder of PTI said that he had not put any pressure on anyone to make a contract,” said Gohar.
Gohar added that he will discuss mining and minerals with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandpur.
The recently presented bill in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly to make decisions to manage the province’s mining and minerals sector has given rise to a sharp debate, which has criticized the opposition parties, allies and even voices within the PTI.
Opponents say the proposed law threatens to harm provincial sovereignty and to hand over maximum control over KP’s natural resources to the federal government.
However, the KP government maintains that the legislature has been misunderstood and insists that it is designed to prevent illegal mining and attract investment.
The bill was introduced in the provincial parliament at a time when the federal government was reluctantly promoting the country’s mineral reserves to attract foreign investment.
Gohar called on the PTI leadership to refrain from making statements on the matter unless he met Gandpur and political leadership Khan.
In addition, the PTI founder expressed “concerns” about Afghan refugees, and especially Afghanistan.
Referring to dissatisfaction with PTI leaders, the founder of PTI issued strong instructions to party leaders not to make statements against each other.
The former prisoner in the jail also directed his guidance about the Grand Opposition Alliance, saying that PTI should work on a short agenda to ally with the opposition parties.
“The PTI founder said all parties of the opposition would have to submit [on a single platform for [the protection of] Democracy, “Gohar said.
Today’s meeting between Khan and PTI leaders was once again in conflict as Gohar criticized that the party had allowed “only two lawyers” to meet through his list. However, “five lawyers met the founder of PTI today”.
It is worth mentioning here that PTI leaders who have met Khan in Adiala Jail today include Gohar, Barrister Salman Safdar, Faisal Chaudhry, Ali Imran, and Rai Salman.
The PTI lawmaker also criticized the jail authorities for preventing Khan’s family from being jailed. “We condemn you that Khan’s sisters do not allow him to meet him.”
He remembered the Islamabad High Court’s clear instructions to the jail authorities to allow Khan to meet Khan twice a week.
‘Does the door of negotiations not closed’
PTI spokesman Sheikh Waqas Ikram made it clear that the former PM Khan never closed the doors of the talks and added that the national interests can be discussed in national interests, meeting the basic issues, including the supremacy of the law and the constitution.
He reiterated that PTI’s founders believe in getting justice from the courts. Akram added that the PTI founder decided to release from the courts but he was not attacking any agreement.
The party spokesman explained that Khan directed the briefing on the mines and minerals bill through Chief Minister Gandapur, which would be approved. [from the KP Assembly] After its approval
The senior leader also ordered PTI leaders to refrain from making contradictory statements regarding the aforementioned legislation. In addition, the PTI founder also asked the KP Assembly to introduce a resolution for Afghan refugees, Akram concluded.
