At a meeting with the Supreme Court Bar Association of Pakistan (SCBAP), to discuss various topics, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) shared its concerns about the implementation of the agreement and the rights of property, which directly affected foreign investment.
A meeting between SCBAP President Mian Mohammad Rauf Atta and the IMF Mission was held on Monday with an agenda to discuss matters such as judicial performance, implementation of agreements, and protection of property rights in Islamabad.
On this occasion, the Presidents of the High Court Bar Association of Baluchistan and Sindh were also present on the occasion, Balchistan and Sindh, Mir Attaullah Lango and Barrister Sarfraz Metalo.
The meeting, which lasted for more than an hour, covered several issues, especially the matter of judicial performance, which is one of the main concerns of the mission.
The mission also shared its concerns about the implementation of the agreement and the property rights issues, which directly affect foreign investment. In this context, President SCBAP provided a detailed and realistic response to the mission’s questions.
The president of the SCBAP, recognizing the importance of judicial performance, found that for a dynamic and independent judicial system, judicial performance was one of the basic conditions.
Atta informed the mission that currently two important efforts are being made to enhance judicial performance, one towards the judicial party and the other towards the legislature.
On the judicial aspect, he briefed the mission of the steps taken by the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP), which aims to improve judicial performance, such as the introduction of the e -filing system replacing the Orthodox filing system, the introduction of the case management system, the implementation of the video.
“All these measures have been directed to improve judicial performance and eliminate obstacles in this process,” he said. Additionally, efforts are being made to introduce the same steps in the higher and subordinate judiciary. “
He also informed the mission that the recently introduced 26th constitutional amendment was made for the purpose of improving judicial independence, which enables the judicial system to work more efficient and effectively.
It was reaffirmed that a constitutional bench has been set up to deal with more complex, high -level political and constitutional issues under this amendment to save court time for regular work without interference.
In addition, an institutional system is already working to examine the performance of the judges.
The mission was also informed about other steps to enhance judicial performance, such as increasing the number of expert judges not only in the Supreme Court but also in the Supreme Court, the introduction of numerous tribunals, especially in tax cases, and the effect of solving complex issues through alternative disputes.
Regarding the implementation of the agreement, the mission was informed that, despite the delays due to the inability of the procedure, the government is trying its best to provide a conducive environment directly to attract foreign investment and secure them, and special courts and benchs are being introduced to decide these issues.
In addition, it was mentioned that Articles 23 and 24 of the Constitution deal with their rights, and efforts are being made to strengthen anti -secret laws and implementation procedures.
The meeting concluded with the two sides that the prescription of resolving all the above mentioned issues lies in economic and political stability and good governance, in which the SCBAP president has termed the rule of law as the basis.
