Islamabad: With the expectation at its peak, the 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSLX) began today (Friday) under the brilliant lights of Pindi Stadium.
Promises to be a thrilling start, defending champions Islamabad United face a top octane opener against the Arc rival Lahore Qalandars, a highly competitive tournament. Both camps are burning with confidence and hopefulness, wanting to leave each other behind, which can still be one of the most interesting editions of the PSL.
Islamabad United, who was happy with the victory of his championship last year, is not resting in his honor. Dynamic all -rounder Captain Shadab Khan eliminated his confidence in the hunger for his squad preparation and success. Shadab said, “We are fully prepared to increase this season even more in this season. After winning the title last year, we have reviewed our gaps and made some smart increase. I am sure it is still our balanced and explosive team.”
One of the standout involvement in this season is the Australian Ben Dorshois, a high -ranking left -arm speed that is capable of rotating more than 150 km per hour. Its raw speed and aggression can prove to be a game changer for the United States. The arrival of the Australian Power House Darsi Short has reinforced the squad.
On the other side of the pitch, Lahore Qalandars have no plans to play catches. Depending on the years of hard work, Qalandars have created a squad that they believe they can challenge any opponent to their day.
Daryl Mitchell, who is known for consistency with the bat and temperament under pressure, is included in the ranks of Qalandars, which brings stability into the middle order. Since both teams locked the horns, which promises to be powered by the blockbuster curtains, the stake may not be high.
A shining opening ceremony will identify the start of this historic edition before the start of the game on Friday. PSLX is set to run from April 11 to May 18. The 34 -match tournament includes three double headers scheduled on April 12, 1 and 10, while the remaining fixtures will be the only header across Karachi, Lahore, Multan and Rawalpindi. Three afternoon games will start at 4pm PKT.
Six teams will also lock the horns for the winners, to take the amount of 000 500,000 prizes, while the runners -up team will be awarded 000 200,000. Gaddafi Stadium is ready to host 13 matches, including qualifiers, Eliminator and the final on May 18. Pindi Stadium will host 11 matches, while Multan Stadium and National Stadium will observe every PSLX matches this season.
Babar Azam will lead PSL 2017 winner Peshawar Zalmi. Australian David Warner became the fourth overseas player to lead the 2020 champion Karachi Kings.
Mohammad Rizwan will continue to rule as the captain of the Sultan. Shadab Khan, who has led Islamabad United in 55 PSL matches, has also been given leadership duties for PSLX while Shaheen Shah Afridi will be in charge of Lahore Qalandars.
Except for David Warner, all the captains who were represented by Hassan Ali (Karachi Kings) at a press conference at a local hotel on Thursday.
