Myanmar’s neighbors sent warplanes and aircraft equipped with relief goods and rescue personnel on Sunday, as international aid destroyed most parts of the Southeast Asian nation after a massive earthquake.
Its military government said at least 1,600 people were killed and 3,400 were injured in Friday’s 7.7 magnitude earthquake, which is the strongest of Myanmar in a century.
According to Myanmar media, “all military and civilian hospitals as well as health care workers should work together to ensure effective medical reactions.”
The modeling of the United States geological service predicts that the number of Myanmar casualties may be at 10,000 and the losses can exceed the country’s annual economic production.
