MOSCOW: Russia has proposed a limited war to prevent air strikes in energy locations, but has rejected a call for a full ceasefire to support the United States, as it is ready for important talks with Ukraine and US officials in Saudi Arabia on Monday.
Moscow has rejected the US-US-UCR’s proposal for a full and unconditional 30-day ceasefire, rather than keeping airstrikes on energy facilities.
Despite this offer, the two sides have launched airstrikes during the talks.
A Russian strike in the southern Ukrainian city of Zapurzia was killed at the end of Friday night, killing a family of three people, causing anger among Ukrainian officials.
US negotiators will hold a separate meeting with the Ukrainian and Russian delegation in Saudi Arabia on Monday, in which US envoy Keith Klog describes as a “shuttle diplomacy” between hotel rooms.
US President Donald Trump’s diplomacy and pressure has aroused, so far a progress has proved.
“We hope to get at least some progress,” Russian Senator Gregory Caracasin, who will lead the Russian delegation, told the Zuzda TV channel without explaining what issue.

A senior Ukrainian official told AFP a day earlier that Kiev hopes he will acquire a “minimum” deal on a partial ceasefire containing energy, infrastructure and attacks in the sea. Kiev is sending his defense minister for talks.
“We’re going with the mindset to fight for at least one problem,” Crossian told Zeizda, which is owned by the Russian Defense Ministry.
He said he was going to Saudi Arabia on Sunday and would return on Tuesday.
Drone barrages
The election of negotiators for Russian talks has raised questions. Both are out of traditional diplomatic decision -making agencies such as the Kremlin, the Foreign Ministry, or the Ministry of Defense.
Carson is a carrier diplomat who is now sitting in the upper house of Russia, while Basda has long been an FSB officer and is now adviser to the Director of the Security Service.
In 2014, the FSB acknowledged that the country’s supporters were in Bedda Kiev during a bloody crackdown in the Ukrainian capital during the European Union’s revolution.
