UN: As the UN General Assembly on Friday, in memory of the International Day to tackle Islamophobia, Pakistan, while speaking on behalf of the Islamic Cooperation Organization (OIC), urged the international community to fight against the growing events of Islamophobia and to resolve the Muslim, biotechnology.
UN Ambassador Munir Akram’s Permanent Representative informed the UNGA that the purpose of the international community should promote a collective effort to tackle Islamophobia with unity and sympathy. The 193 -member assembly also heard solidarity messages from UN Secretary -General Antonio Guterres and UNGA President Flimon Yang.
The Pakistani envoy said, “We should pledge to use positive messages of peace, justice, tolerance and sympathy that Islam – and all of all religions – all religions – Islamophobia and all other demonstrations of hatred, prejudice and intolerance.”
In 2022, the Assembly approved a resolution, which jointly nominated by Pakistan as an international day to tackle Islamophobia, which he called a “fixed moment” because the world eventually acknowledged the threat posed by the threat.
The day was celebrated when the Muslim world was witnessing the holy month of Ramadan.
Ambassador Akram, speaking for the OIC, said, “Islamophobia is not limited to a single region – it is born again in the West and the East.”
“Islamophobia is now being used as an opportunity for political development and popularity, which has fed the worst humanitarianism of fear, prejudice and hatred. In some countries, Muslims are systematically backward and suppressed.
In this regard, Ambassador Akram called on governments to ensure that their policies and laws reflect an unintentional commitment to religious tolerance. Media and dislike are not used to air hatred. No law has been made a weapon to reduce Muslim identity or discriminate against Muslims. And the citizen of any state is not linked to the second level on the basis of their belief.
“No nation can claim to be a real democracy, while it organizes its Muslim citizens in a systematic manner and backs it,” he said.
“Today, Islamophic currency, policies and measures are dangerous, especially in recent times, hatred and intolerance against Muslims have spread,” the Pakistani envoy pointed to the consequences of religious intolerance, massive emission, inquiries, Pogomes and genocide.
“We observe the political rhetoric that strives to exclude Muslims, deprive them and make the devil – even in societies who have worked as the champion of tolerance, pluralism, democracy and human rights.”
He pointed out that the demonstrations of Islamophobia include numerous movements of the sacred symbols and destinations of Islam. The dishonor of his honorable Prophet Muhammad (PBUH); Pressing Muslim Identity – like hijab is banned. Backwardness and discrimination against the entire Muslim communities.
He added, “In many places,” the prejudice against Muslims is suppressed rather than suppressed. Instead of reconciliation, angry people are being raised. And discrimination is being legalized through policies and announcements.
In this context, he presented the massacre of Christ Church on March 15, 2019 and the slaughter of Muslims in the other region as a “clear example of Islamophobia, hatred and racism.”
Ambassador Akram thanked the UN chief that he thanked a senior Spanish diplomat and a special envoy to Islamophobia, pointing to his intention to nominate Magel Morenos, a senior diplomat and civilization head of the United Nations coalition.
“We call for the Secretary General and its special envoy to be preliminary approval of the financial resources needed to enable the implementation of this General Assembly resolution to tackle Islamophobia.”
He added that the OIC is looking forward to working with the Secretary General and his special envoy to develop a practical plan to tackle Islamophobia.
Such a plan may include: a definition of Islamophobia and its expression, a method of monitoring and compiling Islamophobia operations, a template of Islamophobia’s national legislation, fighting Islamophobia and showing tolerance and harmony in societies.
Ambassador Akram also praised the efforts of some Western countries, including Sweden and Denmark – which has enforced laws to tackle Islamophobia – in which the Quran’s disgrace operations have been convicted, and to ensure that there is no use of misconduct and absence.
He said that Canada has appointed a special representative to deal with Islamophobia, while the United States has launched a national strategy against anti -Muslim hatred. Australia also appointed a special envoy to promote interfaith dialogue.
“We request other nations to follow it,” he said.
Meanwhile, the ambassador said that the UN Secretary -General will soon appoint a special envoy to guide the efforts to counter Islamophobia.
In his message about International Day to tackle Islamophobia, Ambassador Akram said that Pakistan and OIC countries will work with the Secretary General and its special envoy to work to develop a concrete plan to tackle Islamophobia.
