Madrid: Real Madrid won 2-1 against their city rivals Athletico Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League’s last 16 tie on Tuesday.
After sending the hosts of Rodrigo, Julian Alvarez equalized for Athletico, but Brahim Diaz defeated the winner for a record 15 -time winner to appease the Santiago Bernabio Stadium.
“I think we played a full game today, (my) goal was good and it won us, but it didn’t end.”
“There is still a second leg and we have to give everything, as we did today.”
Diego Simone’s Athletico, who lost in the 2014 and 2016 final against his bitter rivals, kept the Stars Venius Junior and Kylon Embope calmed, but still decreased.
Rouge Blancos played a safe stage in the final stages, it seems that next week the house will accept the loss of one goal for the second leg derby collision at home.
“For a moment we had control of the game, but we knew it would not be an easy match, because they were at home and they have great players,” said Alwariz.
“But we know it’s 90 minutes to go … it’s a goal, and the second game, at home with our fans.”
Madrid coach Carlo Anaslotti selected Morocco International Diaz in Midfield to replace Jud Belingham and selected feed Walorde in the rightback after fitting for the game.
The Italian on Saturday demanded better attitude and more commitment to La Liga’s defeat by Real Bus and provided his allegations.
“The second half was better (already), we worked hard, defended well, our purpose was to take a little advantage and we did it,”
Rodrigo bounced after just four minutes, before collecting a passing pass by slipping inside the Javi Galan before firing his left foot across John Oblak and from his left foot inside the remote.
It was the fifth strike of the Brazilian Winger Tournament, which shone habitually for Madrid on the European stage, where it has 25 goals in 61 appearances.
His compatriot Venius came close to Madrid’s second title when he entered the box, but Jose Geminis stopped his shot well.
‘We’re alive’
Athletico began to pose his own danger, and Walorde hacked the ball of Juliano Simone from his own cross -bar under pressure from Samuel Leno.
Alvarez equalized with a brilliant individual goal, danced to Edward Kamonga on the left side of the box and trapped his shot into the top corner of the past.
Former Manchester City strikers have been in good shape in the past few weeks, scoring 10 goals in 14 matches and proved why Athletico made it the second most expensive signature of all the time last summer.
Simon said, “They started a good start … I think our team’s big plus was that we did not give up, we did not fear the stage after accepting it so fast.”
“We started to join the game, and started to own the ball more, and started playing more in half of them.”
Antonine Graysman and Rodrigo de Paul helped maintain control of Athletico for a long time, Madrid found it difficult to take the ball back from their rivals.
When Diaz restored Los Blankos’ lead in the 55th minute, he was even more surprised.
The midfielder left Geminis on the floor with some fast fitwork and created a place to eliminate the clean, before he jumped into the crowd to celebrate.
Grezman fired widespread firing, and Geminis searched for a reaction at that time, and Ansloti brought more control over 39 -year -old midfielder Luka Modrick.
Croatian just provided that and no threat was threatened by anybody in the last half of the match, when Madrid won the third.
On the right side, MBP’s cut -back back was behind Vanus, which was waiting for the tap, and Oblak had rescued Modek from Moody.
Athletico host Real Madrid, the winner in the quarter -finals next week at the Metropolitano Stadium, faces Arsenal or PSV Indovin.
“We are alive (in the tie) and we have to correct our mistakes and go to the other leg for it,” said Athletico’s midfielder Marcos Lorent.
