A White House official said US President Donald Trump suspended military aid to Ukraine on Monday, increasing pressure on Kiev to agree on peace talks with Russia.
The move comes just a few days after an amazing public confrontation between Ukrainian President Wolodmeer Zelannsky and Trump, who want to end the war rapidly.
Earlier, Trump had refused to reject the pause by reporters on Monday, but any obstacle to the flow of US weapons would rapidly weaken the opportunity to defeat Ukraine’s Russia invasion.
“The president is clear that he is focused on peace,” a White House official spoke on condition of anonymity to AFP. We also need to be committed to this purpose. “
The official added, “We are withholding and examining our aid to ensure that it is contributing to a solution.”
Congress Democrats immediately declared the break as dangerous and illegal.
“My Republican colleagues who have declared Putin a war criminal and promised their constant support for Ukraine, should join me in demanding President Trump,” said Gregory Max, a senior Democrat of the House of Committee, said.
Trump has also warned that he will not “tolerate” Zilinski’s notoriety for long, and said that the Ukrainian leader should be “more praiseworthy” to US support.
Speaking at the White House, Trump said Zillski would not be “long” without a ceasefire agreement with Moscow.
According to the New York Times, this pause is immediately implemented and the process of sending Ukraine affects hundreds of millions of dollars of weapons.
Zlinski said on Monday for his part that he was trying to end the war “as soon as possible”.
The comment came after Zillski accused Russia – which invaded Ukraine in 2014 and increased the conflict in 2022 – because of lack of serious peace.
He insisted that tight security guarantees are the only way to end the war.
But Trump’s stance has promoted US support for Ukraine and Washington’s allies more widespread, and has raised concerns about Washington with the help of Washington in Russia.
European aid
After the weekend talks in London, Britain and France are investigating that “one -month Ukraine Russia Trus” in the “air and energy infrastructure” in the “air and energy infrastructure”.
Zillsky said the talks are still focused on “first steps”, adding: “A deal about the end of the war is far away” – a comment that angered Trump.
Zlinski added in a video statement that “real, honest peace” will come only with security guarantees for Ukraine, which in 1994 agreed to refuse in 1994 in exchange for protection provided by the United States and the United Kingdom only.
“It was 11 years ago, 11 years ago, lack of security guarantees for Ukraine, which allowed Russia to occupy Crimea and start a war in Donbas, then lack of security guarantees allowed Russia to launch a full -scale attack.”
After screaming at the Oval Office on Friday, Russia rejects the comments, rejecting these comments, accusing them of not seeking peace.
On the ground, Ukrainian officials reported the death of a Russian missile strike at a distance of 130 km (80 miles) from the frontline.
An attack near DNIPO on Saturday killed between 30 and 40 soldiers and injured 90 more, a respected military blogger said.
‘Deliberately’ increase?
Earlier, Trump has asked President Zelaninski since 2019, a “dictator” for not holding elections, though martial law stops any vote because of war.
Zillski rejects his demands to resign, reiterating his pledge only when Ukraine was given a NATO membership, which is Russia – and now the United States under Trump.
In Moscow, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov blamed Zilnski for the shock with Trump and Vice President JD Venice on Friday, saying he “showed a complete lack of diplomatic abilities.”
“He doesn’t want peace,” Peskov told reporters.
On Monday, Venus told Broadcaster Fox News that he believes Zilnski will “eventually” agree on peace talks with Moscow.
Venus said, “I think Zelinsky was not yet there, and I think it is not yet, still not present.” “But I think he’ll finally get there. He has to do it.”
But Germany’s potential Chancellor, Frederick Mirz, said the surprising White House conflict was a “deliberate increase” by Trump.
US and Russian officials have talked about ending the war, provoking Kiev and ignoring Europe, and giving rise to this concern, and it is feared that any deal could endanger Ukraine’s future.
