Veteran actor Sajid Hassan said on Thursday that his son Sahar Hassan was illegally arrested by the police in a “fake case” without any warrant, despite no evidence against him.
He claimed that the most important suspect in the abduction and murder of Mustafa Amir, was being dragged into a fake case due to pressure from the police due to the alleged drug use of drugs.
“I strongly condemn the illegal arrest,” a public statement said, breaking the silence over the arrest of his son in the drug case.
The actor claimed that his son was taken into police custody without any warrant, completely based on the statement of an accused in the Mustafa murder case.
This statement of Sajjad came when Saheer was sent to jail on judicial remand by a judicial magistrate two days ago, following the request of the investigating officer to complete the investigation.
An investigation report said that Saheer was allegedly addicted to drugs for 13 years and started selling expensive and imported drugs two years ago. It added that he received money through his father’s manager’s bank account.
The report further claims that two more suspects, Bazel and Yahya, used to send drugs through courier.
Sajid said, “When no evidence was found against him, instead of releasing him, the FIR folded the FIR to justify this clear violation of his rights.”
Sajjad said, “No drugs or prohibitions were recovered from Sehir. Police illegally raided our house without any warrant and violated the legal procedure. According to the law, they needed to record any alleged recovery on raids, arrests, conflict and video, yet they failed to do so.”
He called the police claim to recover “557 grams of hashish” as “completely wrong”.
Criticizing the allegations, Sajid said: “This is nothing but a deliberate attempt to frame my son, harass our family, and to remove the public and media attention from the real problem.
He established hope on the judiciary through “this baseless matter, maintaining justice and acquitting his son with these false accusations.”
The actor, who gained fame from the drama sun shore, also expressed deep disappointment with “some parts of the media, which is unfair and irresponsible”.
“False statements and speculation reporting only works to discredit my son, my family and me. I urge the media to maintain journalistic integrity, to report the facts correctly, and refrain from spreading misunderstandings that hurt innocent lives.”
The actor called for “an immediate, transparent and impartial inquiry into this serious abortion of justice.”
He emphasized that his son should not be the goat of the sacrifice in an attempt to save the real criminals and demanded the authorities to ensure that justice remains.
Some reports have claimed that Armaghan’s statement in front of investigators to buy drugs from Sehir led to the arrest of the latter.
Earlier this month, during a raid at his residence at DHA in Karachi, Armaghan fired a special unit of Karachi police responsible for dealing with murder and extortion cases, which was a special unit of Karachi police. The unit was investigating the disappearance of BBA student Mustafa, who went missing on January 6.
Mustafa’s body was found in a car near the Hub check post on January 12 and was buried by the EDHI Foundation on January 16. The body was later evacuated and after a preliminary report of DNA’s initial profiling, it was confirmed that the fiancée belongs to Mustafa.
