ISLAMABAD: Central Development Working Party (CDWP) approved development projects worth Rs 49.310 billion on Friday, while additional projects of Rs 19.96 billion to the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) for final approval Recommended.
With the verification of the ECNEC, the total cost of these projects will reach Rs 69.275 billion.
The meeting, chaired by Minister of Planning, Development and Special Initiative (PDSI) and Deputy Chairman Planning Commission Ehsan Iqbal, reviewed key steps in several sectors, including education, health, higher education, industries, information technology, manpower, Media, physical, physical, physical planning and housing, electricity and special areas.
In the education sector, CDWP approved two projects, the cost of establishing Danish schools in Gilgit Baltistan (Astor) for Rs 2.96 billion and Rs 3.05 billion in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK). AJ’s school, which is designed to adjust 800 students, will introduce modern educational interference such as incubation centers, skill development programs, IT education, and school dining measures.
In the fuel sector, the forum approved the project of gas supply to villages within 5 km of gas in Sindh and Jhal Magsi Town, Balochistan, as part of the fourth year of the eight -year project. In this project of Rs 1.566 billion, 192.964 km of gas pipelines are laid to connect 2,934 households in 81 villages.
The Higher Education Commission (HEC) presented two important projects which received the approval of the CDWP. First, the University of Science and Technology (Lakki Marwat Campus) upgrades at a full university, which has been included in a full university, will be implemented at a cost of Rs 2.929 billion. The move is aimed at providing education to more than 2,000 students, creating employment for 80 faculty members and 98 management staff, and increasing the quality of education for colleges associated with 12-15. In addition, it will introduce the Research and Development (R&D) program that is focused on local resources, supported by a team of 28 qualified faculty members.
The second HEC approved project is the establishment of a National Center for Brand Development, worth Rs 1.85 billion. The purpose of this center is to strengthen Pakistan’s brand identity by promoting research and innovation in marketing, design, and industrial development. It will provide special training programs to enhance the global competitiveness of Pakistani products and services.
The Pakistan Optical Remote Sensing Satellite Project, which is sponsored by Soparco and proposed to the ECNEC through the CDWP Forum, aims to extend the Pakistan Image Translator Rating Scale (IIR) Is The total cost of this project is Rs 19.965 billion. The move will play an important role in social development and national security, which will include requests in agriculture, precision crop survey, urban planning, destruction monitoring, water resources management, and GIS data management. In addition, the project will strengthen operational capacity to control more than one LEO remote sensing (RS) satellite, welcome satellite data, improve archive and dispersion.
In the manpower and employment sector, the CDWP approved the Prime Minister’s Social Sector Accelerator (SSA) for health, nutrition, education, youth and gender under the Prime Minister’s empowerment program. This flagship move, titled ‘Youth and In them’, has been allocated Rs 7.489 billion to empower young people through target intervention in the development of health, education and expertise.
Under the Mass Media sector, the CDWP approved three important projects. First, national information and media archives will be set up at a cost of Rs 2.998 billion to secure and document the main content of the media. The second project, the restoration of middle wave services from Khairpur, has been allocated Rs 902.95 million to enhance radio broadcasting infrastructure. The third move, the Central Monitoring Unit, has been converted to a total cost of Rs 1.396 billion, which aims to improve media monitoring and regulatory monitoring.
In the physical planning and housing sector, CDWP approved the development of block-A of Phase 1 (500 acres) of Karachi Industrial Park, which will be established on the land of about 6,400 acres of Pakistan Steel Mills in Karachi. – The project is expected to promote industrial development, attract investment and create employment opportunities.
The forum also approved the Green Energy Projects, which was financed by the FW Bank of Germany and was presented by the government, which has a total cost of Rs 5.06 billion. The move includes 21.119 MW of solar PV system in 24 Tariqiri hospitals and six danish schools in different districts. It is expected that the project will generate 28 GWH clean energy annually, which will save an estimated cost of Rs 1.68 billion annually. In addition, this will reduce harmony to 21,106 metric tons annually, which will significantly reduce the dependence on grid electricity, while ensuring sustainable and uninterrupted energy supply to hospitals and schools.
Under the Department of Special Areas (AJ&K and GB), CDWP approved the strengthening of the Anti -Terrorism Department in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, which has a total cost of Rs 2.679 billion. The project aims to increase security measures, improve law enforcement capabilities, and strengthen counter -terrorism efforts in the region.
The GB government’s hydroelectric project was also approved in Mahdiaabad Phase III, Kharmang. With a cost of Rs 1.497 billion, the project will generate 3.07 MW of electricity, which will produce annual energy production 21.27 GW. The project is also expected to increase energy efficiency, which is estimated at Rs 152 million estimated annual energy supply, which will ensure a more stable and reliable power supply for residents.
In addition, CDWP has approved the China Pakistan Economic Transit Support Project (CPECSP) – Phase II, which has a total cost of Rs 2.459 billion. The project is designed to strengthen institutional support for CPEC measures, which helps implement infrastructure and development projects under smooth harmony and transit.
