KARACHI: Prior to the Tree Nation Series and ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 international matches, Karachi’s newly upgraded National Bank Stadium was inaugurated at a shiny event on Tuesday. , Digital screens, LED lights, and thousands of new chairs for fans.
Sindh Governor Kamran Tessuri and Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah jointly inaugurated a nine -up National Bank Stadium, which has been extended in the preparation of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
The program was also attended by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Naqvi, Federal Minister for Science and Technology Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab, national team, former cricketers and several other honorees.
CM Murad praised the PCB for completing the renovation in record time. He confirmed his government’s commitment to promote sports in Port City, saying: “The Sindh government is dedicated to providing advanced facilities for sports activities in the city.”
He remembered the Sindh government’s previous efforts, noteing the upgrade of the National Stadium in 2018, ensuring that it was fully equipped for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) matches.
He emphasized on Karachi’s passion for cricket and assured that his government would continue to support the game at all levels.

A new Pavilion – University Road and – also officially opened. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said that “the latest facility identifies an important milestone in the history of the stadium, which reinforces PCB’s commitment to enhance cricket infrastructure in Pakistan.”
The newly constructed pavilion includes world -class dressing rooms for players and match officials, including high quality hospitality rooms.

In addition to the new pavilion, several major upgrades have been completed to enhance both sports and viewing experience at the National Bank Stadium.
These include installation of 350 LED lights to improve broadcast standards, fixing two digital replay screens and adding more than 5,000 new chairs to enhance spectacle comfort.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi made several visits to the stadium to ensure timely completion of work.
About 5,000 dedicated workers contributed tirelessly to replace the stadium, and ensured their full operational preparations for the Tri -Series and the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
Naqvi said that this upgrade board is a testament to the vision of Pakistan’s cricketing places to international standards.
