Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandpur announced Thursday that he would take the federal government into confidence before sending Afghanistan a jirga to deal with the growing terrorist incidents in the province.
Talking to Geo News, CM Gandapur said that KP was affected by Afghanistan, a country that had been suffering from wars for decades. KP and Afghanistan share more than 2,600 km long.
Authorities in Kabul are reluctant to take decisive action against terrorist shelters, militants across the border have repeatedly targeted Pakistan’s security forces and innocent civilians.

CM Gandapur said today that he will set up a jirga consisting of representatives of different tribes to discuss with the interim government in Kabul.
Meanwhile, KP Chief Minister Barrister Mohammad Ali Saif said: “Peace is tied up in Afghanistan and Pakistan.”
Barrister Saif said he wanted peace and brotherly relations between the two countries. He said that the two countries enjoy economic, political and cultural relations, adding that they want to enhance business relations between the two sides.
Sources said that the Afghan authorities have contacted the provincial government in this regard, adding that a grand jirga will be held after a preliminary talks between the two sides.
Last month, the PCM announced that it would send a delegation of tribal elders to Afghanistan for talks, saying: “The federal government has not achieved any success in dialogue with Afghanistan.”
“We will find a solution to these problems,” he added.
