QUETTA: Seeing intense competition and remarkable victories for candidates supported by various political parties and independent contenders, local institutions were by -elections in different districts of Baluchistan. Some candidates came out unopposed, while others won through tough competitions, which highlighted the province’s diverse political scenario.
Until Sunday night, unofficial results of 25 election wards were compiled across Balochistan, and the key results of these Bai police were highlighted. The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) performed a strong performance in Lasibila, Zhob, Dera Murad Jamali and Deraullah Yar.
The National Party won in the raw and Barkhan, while the Jamiat Ulema-e-Fazal (Joy-F) won in Zub and won their significant success in Pishin. Independent candidates have received significant benefits, especially in Dera Bugti, Surab and Chagai. The Pashtunwa Milli Party in Pushton won in Pishin.
In the Kachi district, by -elections were held in two union councils. In the Chagigi Union Council, National Party -backed candidate Malik Khan won 197 votes, which withdrew more than his rival Pervez Khan, who got 77 votes.
In the Ghazi Union Council, Saleh Mohammed won with 156 votes in Wardlando 5, while in Ward Masso, Ghulam Ali got 210 votes, and he claimed first place.
In Lasibila district, municipal elections in Athal witnessed a severe race. Habibullah Pirwani of the Jam Group won with 190 votes in Ward 1, while PPP candidate Maula Bakhsh Khaskili withdrew from 135 votes. In Ward 2, Mohammad Rafiq Mandra emerged as a winner with 467 votes, he easily defeated tribal leader Sardar Imam Bakhsh Mandrara, who won 423 votes. In Zhob, the PPP celebrated a remarkable victory, in which Zafarullah Kakar claimed victory in Ward 37. The Awami National Party (ANPK) appeared in Sheikh Hedak Khan Ward 2, while Joi-F.’s grandfather Nasir won Ward 15.
Elections were also held in Dera Murad Jamali and Deraullah Yar, where PPP components Dharpali and Vadira Saddam Hussein Khoso won a decisive victory, which further strengthened the party’s presence in the province.
In Surab, Independent candidate Sheikh Mohammed Yasin emerged as a winner with 151 votes, surpassing his opponent, Mohammed Rafiq Mengal, who got 69 votes.
In Barakhan, National Party candidate Vadira Baz Khan Bazdar won the UC Mehma Samand Khan Lonakhan Ward 4. In Dera Bugti, known for its independent political voices, a wave of free conquests was observed.
Candidates, including Mahim Khan, Ali Nawaz, Yar Mohammad, Mohammad Anwar, Ghulam Hussain, and Ganju Khan, won the strong influence of local independent leadership.
In Pishin, Shamsuddin Jamal, who hails from the Pashtunkova Milli Ommy Party, won the ward 1 set with 94 votes, which defeated Joi-Fi’s Maulvi Atiq-ur-Rehman Durrani, who got 76 votes. In a remarkable development, Muhammad Sharif was elected unopposed in the second seat.
In Chagai, independent candidate Sana’aullah claimed to be victorious by 167 votes, and defeated Maulvi Aminullah, who got 109 votes. Kalat won the rare scenario of four candidates, including Ghulamullah, Mahmood Gham, Shah Jahan and Sabira Bibi.
The by -elections were held from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, which had strict security measures to ensure smooth and peaceful processes. The Election Commission confirmed that no untoward incident was reported during polling hours.
Overall, by -elections have been held in 50 districts of Balochistan in 25 districts, out of which 167 candidates are ready for various local seats.
Voters came out in large numbers to clarify the importance of these elections in the formation of a local political scenario. Although the results are unofficial, the results reflect the ongoing political dynamics of Balochistan, where both party -backed candidates and independent personalities continued to play a vital role.
