Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek -e -Insaf (PTI) chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan said Thursday that party founder Imran Khan has stopped the ongoing talks with the government.
Talking to the media upon arriving at Parliament House, Barrister Gohar highlighted that PTI has openly discussed, only two demands have been made – the Judicial Commission is set up to investigate the May 9 riots and Islam. Along with the November last year’s protests in Abad. The release of “political prisoners”.
The statement of the PTI chairman contradicts his first announcement to end the ongoing talks with the government on the failure of the latter in the formation of a judicial commission within a seven -day period appointed by the former ruling party.
“The founder of PTI has clearly announced that the talks will not be far further resolved,” Gohar told media outside Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail on Thursday.
The ongoing talks between the government and the PTI led by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) began in late December after months of intense political tensions.
However, weeks of talks – which have taken three sessions so far – have made little progress on important issues.
The party formed by Khan demanded the formation of two judicial commissions in its written Charter of Demands presented to the government during the third meeting on January 16 – which is mutually nominated by PTI and the government within seven days. Were done – and “political prisoners”
However, the PTI announcement criticized the government, which demanded the party a harsh attitude and urged it to review its decision.
However, apparently withdrawing from its previous statement, Barrister Gohar today said that the party could revise its decision to end the talks, but the government should announce the formation of a judicial commission.
He remarked that “seven days were more than enough for the commission’s announcement, but no progress was made.”
Will not attend the fourth round of negotiations: Gohar
Meanwhile, National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq has summoned the fourth round of talks between the government and the PTI on January 28 at 11am and 45 minutes.
Senator Irfan Siddiqui, a spokesman for the government negotiating committee, has said that the PTI has been invited to the meeting of the negotiating committee.
PTI did not report. [us] In writing about the cancellation of the talks, “he gave remarks.
However, Barrister Gohar has refused to be part of the negotiating meeting, saying the party will not participate in the fourth round of the January 28 talks.
In addition, while talking to the media outside the Parliament House earlier, Senator Siddiqui condemned the announcement by the former ruling party on Thursday to end the talks.
“We did not end the talks, but when one party suddenly ends the talks, who should we negotiate? Should we sit in a room and talk to the walls?” They said.
He criticized the opposition’s unexpected capability, saying: “The problem is that the doors of the jail open, and someone suddenly announces without reporting the negotiating committee.”
Highlighting the lack of harmony, Siddiqui remarked that the etiquette, skills and mutual understanding needed for negotiations are missing from their point of view.
“This is not a children’s game; they need to move beyond these ‘if and butt’,” he said. Repeating the scheduled timeline, he added that according to the agreement, the meeting was to be held on January 28.
“Let them come, sit down, and listen to us. But instead, we listen one thing one day and the next day completely different.”
Siddiqui also pointed out that Barrister Gohar is not a member of the negotiating committee, saying: “Gohar should inform his committee about the importance of respecting his promises and the importance of attending the meeting as promised.”
Siddiqui expressed disappointment over PTI’s contradictory attitude. “We cannot be part of the game where there is no faith or sincerity,” he said.
The Senator’s remarks come at a time when Rana Sanaullah, the Prime Minister’s Adviser for Public and Political Affairs, has said that the government cannot be held responsible for ending the talks.
“We entered the dialogue and still want to continue, but there is a way to negotiate, it has always been that one party gives the charter of its demands and the other responds to it. He said while talking to Geo News program ‘Geo Pakistan’.
The Prime Minister’s assistant dismissed the possibility that the PTI because of the “restoration” of its long -standing “direct channel” in the context of the opening of a “window” for Imran Khan’s party simultaneously. End the conversation.
Sanaullah said the government had ensured that there was no other window.
“Any dialogue, dialogue, settlement or agreement on political issues should be only between the political forces, or the opposition and the government.
“They [PTI] There will be no dialogue on any political agenda, as has been made clear before. If they [PTI] There is still any confusion, it will be cleansed in the coming days, the former federal minister added.
